With regards to the Porsche Expsjsion Pack, it was in fact a complete game. “Within” a game. Not just a simple adding of 23 cars and a ‘single’ track.
It is I fact a full 'stand-alone game with it’s own Showcase events, its own full racing series to run through. Which by the way, encompasses all the eras of Porsche.
The cars in the pack included 11 new cars never before released on any Forza title. 12 came from the Horizon game, but we’re reworked for Forza a Motorsports. There’s a very good thread on the entire expansion pack, so please feel free to search for it and it’ll explain the numbers and types of cars that were new.
The track includes 7 ribbons, and each is run in both day, night and rain. Thus giving you 21 different racing experiences.
VIR is possibly one of the BEST racing sites in the U.S. It is in fact a proper Resort. Where people can come and go for just a holiday at the Spa, or go golfing, or get sone racing in and tutored in, and generally take it easy.
After seeing it, checking on the Internet, my son and I are planning on visiting the site when we head to the U.S. In a few months as part of our holiday.
So - to recap, the pack supplied 23 cars, 11 of which were NEW.
It supplied 7 tracks with 21 variants.
And supplied a full racing series running through all 23 cars from the first Porsche through to the latest Spyder…
It has all the games types that Forza Morosport has in it, including a very heavy enduros,
Plus the insanity Top Gear events etc.
And is run as a stand alone game inside this game.
The NASCAR Expansion Pack will be the same. As there’s evidence that there’s one more spot left on the home page of the dash right next to the Porsche Tab where NASCAR tab will go… Do expect to see a new tab next to the Porsche Tab once it’s released.
It will no doubt ship with not only the new track from Miami. But it’ll no doubt unlock those tracks currently in the game but have their ovals unable to be accessed at the moment. They will be unlocked.
Then adding to those tracks, plus the new Miami one, plus the Two main Ovals, Indy and Daytona. That will expand the other tracks and add up to approx 5-7 circuits ??
Yes, there will be 24 cars, they will fine from the 3 known NASCAR manurfactures, and no doubt consist of 8 liveries from each. But we also have several Daytona Prototypes already in the game. What’s to say that in the next 2 DLCs, we’ll get a few more Daytona Prototypes to run on the ovals.
I believe we’ll be seeing 1 or 2 more HotWheels cars as well, but that’s for another discussion.
As it’s mentioned in this weeks, Week In Review, inI which it states that the Bone Shakert is “one of the first Hotwheels cars to come to Forza 6”…
So - with the addition of the NASCAR Expansion Pack, we could end up with yet ANOTHER broader game. A new “Gsme Within A Game” to play with.
It won’t just be a series of cars and an added track.
As the item shown states on the back. It includes a complete racing series. That will no doubt include a variety of day, night send even rain events that cover the entire racing series.
I do however think that the pack will be released reasonably soon, and - we will get only 2 more DLC car packs.
As these cars (24 3 manufactures with 8 liveries = 24 cars) plus 14 more (2 x 7 cars = 14) from the two DLCs, will take the total to an additional 38 more cars. Thus reaching, if not exceeding, the garage ceiling limit of cars that can be owned at any one time. Which is 600.
We’ve certainly NOT BEEN CHEATED or RIPPED OFF. in fact, with the Porsche Expansion Pack, we’ve gotten a great deal more than we had expected. The NASCARS Epansion Pack will be the same.
But I firmly believe that it will be the last, and we’ll only see 2 more DLCs. We WILL get the various Unicorn cars, eventually. But that will push the total cars well over the magical 600 mark.
