I reckon they would lose more players if they got rid of FOMO, the only reason i turn the game on is to play the new content before its gone.
Believe me i want the game to be better, i want to clear my nights and play for hours in multiplayer but as it is, i just jump on every now and again to do the FOMO.
There’s a lot of people who’d jump on the game right now if given the option to unlock Huayra R, that old 911 racecar, Pennzoil Skyline etc through multiplayer challanges. It’s several hours of gameplay per car. In the case of FM, FOMO actually backfires, robbing the game of potential players because of its implementation.
It should be like Chivalry 2 battle pass - you can choose which update’s content to progress through depending on the mood. It doesn’t lock you to that particular battle pass, doesn’t cancel your progress if you switch to the other one at ANY time. It’s a user-friendly experience that still generates gameplay hours.
For example, I personally wouldn’t mind unlocking NASCAR-month FOMO cars at some point, but right now I i just can’t be bothered with it. I’d rather spend my time enjoying Aussie content.
I’m surprised this isn’t picking up steam. Nearly everyone wants FOMO gone. They finally got rid of the stupid car points/carPG thing after we created some noise as a commnuity, but they are not budging with this.
I do believe there is a poll created by John Doe where hundreds of people have already voted against it.
I really want this nonsense to be a thing of the past, it’s already left a bad taste in me mouth.
356 votes. That’s a lot.
Think of how many more votes it would have if 90% of the players actually came here?
maybe you are conditioned in such a manner that only FOMO works on you now.
Yeah that must be it.
Kindly remove all the FOMO content in this game, please keep adding tracks and new cars, but stop with these open tours, Australian tours etc. All these tours just stay for some time then induce FOMO and people have to put game on easy mode with 0 penalty and breeze through it.
Let people target a car and do like 4-5 races with a car of similar class, then allow them to unlock these cars. There is no benefit to the FOMO content.
Also please remove the grindy tours, why should someone do open tour from all the way from D-Class?
This grind is pointless and people really should not be asked to such boring grind to get one car at the end.
FOMO on top of grind is bane of single player players.
Please consider this suggestion and remove these mechanics, stop developing tours and put some generic voiced intro. This is complete waste of money and resources.
Add reward cars>ask players to do some races with the same class of reward cars?qualify and win the reward car.
thanks
So I missed the reward car from the American Tour that just ended today. Way too many commitments.
What’s T10’s strategy for making these cars available later? If they don’t, they’re gonna lose more ratings as the game is still sinking, unfortunately.
I haven’t played any Gran Turismo since the PS2’s GT4. Is there any FOMO content in GT7?
I just searched it with Brave and wow this sucks, they also have FOMO lol. Screw modern gaming really.
At least GT7 compensates for it in other ways.
I dont know how old that article but its very misleading. The fomo events are weekly challenges that pay credits, they take about an 1.1/2 hour to do,no car rewards except tickets for credits.Daily races offer credits, not exclusive rewards. The time trials are time limited but offer credits,no exclusive other content, they are a quick way to earn credits depending how good you are.Im not that quick a driver so never take part in them.
The artificial scarcity comment, used cars rotate as do the legends cars so they will always reappear,no missing out if you dont buy a car straight away, again no fomo there either.
Microtransaction are there if you want them, they are not constantly bombarding you to buy though. There is no exclusive content or upgrades if you dont spend real money.
GT7 has its faults but fomo certainly isnt one of them. ![]()
I never played it and that picture I shared is just what the AI showed me first. I didn’t do any digging for information. If it’s better than in FM23, well then it’s good.
Graphically I think it looks better than FM,though beauty is in the eye of the beholder.lol The car details are excellent.
Game wise, there is more of a career mode than FM,a lot of different races but unfortunately they are all chase the rabbit races.Apart from 1 grid start everything is a back of the grid start,if i remember rightly there are a few rolling starts races.I like the grid starts in FM,apart from the ai punting in the corners.
Ai in GT7 isnt perfect but is better than FM,they dont tend to drive through you too much and will race you in corners to a degree.Once you get ahead if you slack off they will catch up but with only 3 levels of difficulty.
Handling wise i like both GT7 and FM,they feel different but its hard to explain in words.Photo mode is on another level,if you know what your doing you can take some cracking shots.Livery editor is good with plenty of choice and real world paint colours, which some you buy with in game credits.
Ive played GT7 since launch, the weekly races give an easy credit boost, but i go back to some races over and over with different cars and tunes. The engine swaps, which originally were an item you won in game via the crappy ticket roulette, are now buyable from the parts section. For me this has opened the game up again for me.
At the end of the day i play them both regularly when i have time.
Sorry for the ramble, just trying to give a bit of an insight into GT7. ![]()
If they would release GT7 for PC I would play it too. But I won’t buy a console for a single game. Because I am not interested in any other PS exclusives. The last consoles I owned were PS2 and the original Xbox, then I moved on to PC and never looked back.
Thats fair enough.
Same. GT7 is my only motivation. There’s nothing else on the PS 5 that might interest me so certainly not getting a gaming machine just for one game. Don’t care how good they say it is.
Please add back all the previous Tours, I cannot possibly understand how removing content and restricting new players from cars even after purchasing a $150 ‘full’ content edition is rewarding or enjoyable for anyone. Absolutely mind blowing decision that serves literally no purpose in a game that for decades has been a ‘one time purchase’.
Hello everyone.
This message was posted from T10 official community director.
They’re working on an update for the career mode.
I work full time. I see FOMO I switch off and do something else
