Starting a race on Long beach
2/??? laps complete im in first suddenly says race is ending that someone already finished it even though he was sitting at a dead stop halfway through the track…
says noone completed the race but him
yet I was in first place until the race glitched to a end…?
I recorded it not sure how i can upload it to a video but it was a bit strange
think for a second…how could you do what you think he did? you couldn’t? neither could he. there may have been a glitch or something, but he had no more control over that than you did. you just had a glitch, not a cheater.
He probably lagged out, I was in a drift the other day 1/3 laps race ended because someone aparantly finished, I thought it was quite odd we had just started the drift but yet someone had finished already so I saved the replay and viewed it and viewed the guy that finished and he was drifting as normal then replay finished meaning he prob quit or lagged out, I’m not sure how this can effect the race to end but it does.
I’ don’t think that he was cheating. He was more than likely just sitting there to collect the medals if any for being in the race. Last night, I was in a B Class lobby with TPR Lou and he was in third place and I was in fourth - when the race ended, it showed that I was in third.
Made no sense, I think the game has some issues.
That must’ve been some lobby if TPR Lou was running 3rd.
I’v seen some odd glitches as well. Probably not cheating. Still, I’d send it in to T10 so they can fix it or ban him if he was actually cheating.
I have seen the same thing described here on the Alps. Some sort of glitch exists, yes. Knowingly exploiting that glitch also makes you a cheater. Next time you see this, report the person.
it probably happens randomly to people, not something they are exploiting. report the person for being a victim of turn ten putting to many bugs in the game? knowingly exploiting? if you know what the glitch is or how to reproduce it tell turn ten so they can remove the glitch. but i doubt you know just like i doubt he knew and i know i dont know. but i know from crash to dash, now controler disconnects, getting stuck on looking for server, etc…that the game is buggy. occams razor. we are all victims of a buggy game. have you ever been dropped from a race due to dead batteries, crash to dash, controler disconnects, etc…? how do you know you weren’t listed as the winner? is it your fault if you were? did you cheat? and you have to be careful with the new rep system. somebody is going to get a bad rep point, the person reporting if its proven to be cheating, if they cant prove the cheating the person reporting for fileing a false report. you file too many false reports and you get the same rep as the cheaters, you will place yourself on the cheater list.
if you can prove someone is cheating by all means report them. if you think they might be ask them, see how often it happens. if you jump the gun and report someone innocent tho turn ten can prove who filed the false report so you just reported yourself. i dont know of a single glitch people can exploit to win in lobbies intentionally. i know it happens because i have seen a -7 second lap time and there is no way to finish a lap 7 seconds before you started it. i dont think the guy with the time knew how he got the time either. it was a bug in the game, probably a communication error, not something he did or had control over.
When it happened at the Alps several people in the room were aware of the glitch and it was obviously exploited very intentionally. The person who did it was 100%, without a doubt, exploiting a glitch and being a cheater. They were most definitely not the victim of a bug.
I can’t say I know exactly what the glitch is, but like I said, there were people in the room familiar with it and the race “winners” actions made it pretty clear they weren’t out trying to win the race on the up and up.
If you say what you believe the violation to have been when reporting someone, I’m not sure how it goes down as a false report. Any time I report someone I’m furiously trying to type the discretion into the box between races.
I have noticed a lot of odd things and seen some obvious exploits.
The biggest exploit I have seen in cutting corners. Some tracks have places you can drive off course and cut a corner with very little or no speed loss. All you can do is the same if you want to be competitive. Since this is so obvious and everyone can do it, I am not too worried about it. I would like to see it fixed though.
I’ve seen some races where a car didn’t appear to belong in the race. It appeared to be from a higher class. That is, it appears an A class car is running in a B class race. I’ve heard there is an exploit to do this. I don’t know if that is true or how to do it if it is true. I remember a B class 3 lap race on the Alpine Stadtplatz course. I was using a car I knew ran well there. There was a car in the race that took off from the start line and never looked back. I would swear it was an A class car or may be S. The way that car was running, it was turning near record laps. May be, the guy had it tuned just right, but when I’m turning my quickest laps, I’m pushing the car to the limit and I screw up occasionally (okay, a lot). This racer just ran perfectly the whole time. Who knows, may be the guy was a racer god. It just looked very odd considering I’d heard rumors about getting higher class cars in races. I did two more races with this guy. He ran away every time with the same car. I change cars between tracks because I can’t tune one car to be good on every track.
I’m unsure about the problem reported here. I’ve seen it happen twice, and I was the beneficiary of it once. I was in the lead and the guy in second was closing in. The program then reported the race was ending. We had over a lap to go. The race ended about a quarter the way into the last lap. I managed to hold the lead and I still got the gold. I think I got some badge for it too. The other time I was in the back of the pack somewhere and didn’t really care but the race did end early.
If this guy was repeatedly doing what you say, then saving a replay would’ve been useful. Otherwise, it’s just anecdotal evidence, and there’s already more than enough of that in here (that sounds snarky, but it isn’t - I really do mean there’s more than enough - I’m not trying to be a jerk).
As for higher class cars in lower class lobbies… I’ve never seen it. What I have seen, for example, is the Alfa 33 (such a lovely car), which is B class by default, appear in C lobbies.
I started bringing it into C lobbies just after it was released. It wasn’t hard. It’s not an exploit. You just deliberately build it down (add weight and make it worse). It brings it down to C class.
You can do the same thing with one of the GTRs.
Most of the people I’ve played with who do it end up playing terribly anyway, as lowering the car from its default class doesn’t exactly make it a dream to drive
I don’t see what good saving a replay would be. It would just show a car going fast. How would it show the car was anything other than what it claimed to be? I don’t see how the replay would prove it wasn’t.
I wasn’t saying the lobby showed an A class car in a B class race. What I meant was a car performs in the race as if it were an A class car in a B class race. I’ve heard rumors (note , I said rumors) that there is an exploit to do this. I would be surprised if it were true but the experience I had makes me wonder. If it happens again, I’ll be more suspicious.
I didn’t say the person was cheating. I said it looked very odd. I’ve been in other races where someone has pulled away and easily won but nothing like this and 3 races in a row. The other times I’ve seen people pull away, they don’t do it in the following race.
jim there is nobody that can tune a car to be the best on every track. for my tunes prauge and top gear seem to be opposites. a car that wins on one finishes last on the other. you can drop some cars down a class by adding forza aero, heavier rims, and drag tires. since the default online is damage off/cosmetic drag tires dont wear out like they would in real life. there are drivers good enough and with the right tune they can be god like. i remember way back in fm2 or 3 on the sunset oval, that ford ruled, it was unbeatable. i tuned a tvr that could beat it and thought i was “da man”. i loved beating the fords. back then you could save replays with telemetry. someone said i cheated. back then you could gift and the tvr was a reward car so you could get it dirt cheap on the auction house, so i bought a few and put my tune on them (parts were free at affinity level 5) and handed them out. i still beat the ford driver even in my car, but he still claimed i was cheating. some guy in the room said i wasn’t, i just had the right tune for my style, but i should be even faster. the ford guy told him to prove it and he was gonna whip out his master tune. i thought i had it mastered, i beatthe ford on a regular basis so i agreed he should show us what he ment. he beat us both in a vette. it was the opposite situation, he beat us with a lower class car tuned to the max and driven with skill most can only dream of. to this day i think he was probably a pro driver we probably had watched on tv.
ever watch top gear? we are like the celebs. some much better than others. but pro racers do play forza. they are that good. they can stig the best of us. i followed him for the rest of the day. it didn’t matter what he drove. i could give him a car and he would win with it. thats why they get payed millions and why we pay to watch them on race day. there are a few that really are just that good. the amazing part is when they beat you in an underclassed car. they can take a car right to the edge and keep it there without crossing it, they maintain momentum thru the corners so they never waste power.
rdo3,
I agree that different cars and different tuning are needed for the different courses. I am working on tunes for each of the tracks and classes. I try different cars. I download tunes to see what is possible. It is a work in progress. I am improving my times. I wonder how much of this is because of practice. I could probably race, Road Atlanta, Silverstone, and Laguna Seca in my sleep.
The racer I’m talking about may have done this already. The thing that appeared strangest to me was the fact he never changed cars. I can’t think of two tracks that I have my best times in the same car, even with different tuning.
BTW my name isn’t Jim. JimB3 is an acronym.
Iv had a funny glitch in this game. I was with my friend in a party and had just started a new race. as soon as it started a message said my friend had quit but on his screen he was still racing but everyone was ramming him off the road as well as myself but neither myself or the other racers could see him or notice any collisions with him. It was funny listing to him rage on.
