On top of that, it was never a guarantee that we get DLC on the first Tuesday of every month it has just happened to be released that on those days. There has never been an official statement from T10 stating that DLC would be the first Tuesday of every month, afaik.
Where has it been advertised that the DLC gets released on the first Tuesday of every month? Note that misguided thoughts inside your head don’t count as advertisement.
So in three DLCs we’ve had one that released exactly on the first of the month, one that released on the first Tuesday of the month and now one that’s releasing in the middle of the month. All we need now is one to release at the end of the month and we have the set.
But…Forza 7 in a nutshell, I’d say. So unfinished rhe DLC schedule is broken. Whoever says Forza 7 was Racing Game of the Year is an idiot and is saying half finished, broken, buggy bet build games that charge people 60 - 100 dollars are acceptable. But they aren’t. Sorry but the only two racing games that came out that are anywhere close to being worthy of Game of the Year are NFS Payback and Dirt 4.
I agree that you can never please everyone! However, to say that “We’re lucky to get DLC’s” is a silly statement, when you know a large percentage of players have paid for monthly DLC’s with the VIP pass.
This isn’t a criticism, but I get tired of seeing the same cars in DLC’s like different versions of Mustangs, SUVs and many other cars (Which look the same) ! It would be good to see more concept cars or the latest 2018 cars like the KIA Stinger, McLaren’s latest supercar, the new Holden Commodore (First one to be manufactured overseas). I get sick of the old ugly 80’s drifting cars like the skylines.
The new Holden Commodore is nothing more than a rebadged Vauxhall/Opel Insignia. I like how you also mention that you’re sick of cars that look the same, yet cite Mclaren as a manufacturer that seemingly has cars that all look different. I honestly struggle to tell their cars apart outside of the F1.
GTA also doesn’t have to deal with licensing for their cars, since they’re all made up of various bits of different cars, without ever pointing directly to a registered brand.
The are releasing a patch on the 16th as well, which has the car pack data with it. Perhaps they just waited until the patch was ready for release instead of trying to push two separate patches out for authentication and approval by MSoft.
I’m not gonna say Payback is the best. I’m not gonna say which is the RGOTY for 2017 as I’ve only played three of them, but FM7 was not what it could have been. I still get grayed out liveries on my cars, a problem they said they fixed. I still disconnects in multiplayer. FM7 still needs some updates, epically since it’s esports competitors are ready go while it’s waiting to update for that. Payback is what it is, but it didn’t have the problems FM7 did at launch.
It is only because it was actually finished. Unlike Forza 7 and Gran Turismo Sport. And I can’t think of any other racing game besides Dirt 4 that was complete and released in 2017. Dirt 4 gets my RGOTY because I’m not wiling to give NFS that, but credit where credit is do. EA gave Payback an extra year to develop and thr result is the best selling Need For Speed title in ages and the best one in a while. And if Microsoft doesn’t give Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport an extra year or two which it very evidently needs, then Microsoft is a worse company than EA. And they were voted the worse company of thr year two years in a row. And if you think EA’s loot boxes were bad…Forza 7 locked a bunch of cars…not behind loot boxes, but random releases, which they’ve one released a tiny portion of those before repeating them.
Was it actually finished? They are going to impliment the online freemode(!) later this year. And a car game which has lootbox-based performance upgrade system can’t be any close to RGOTY. Every Forza episode has a 2 year release period, and it’s enough (see FM6). Payback is the first NFS game with 2-year release period, and it is still not, what it should be . I agree with the locking-away-cars problem though, but you can’t be serious stating that the NFS is a more complete game. And yes, in this year against these competitors, even a not-fully-functioning, inconsiderate FM7 can be the GOTY.
That’s his opinion, just because he thinks its a goty doesn’t make him lose all creditability, i personally don’t agree with his choice but i agree with everything else he has said.
