i.e over the rumble strips (it records it as a an accident incident icon)
am certainly no great driver, but some of my lap times uploaded to server are slower than the fastest lap i did.sometimes i have gone 4-5 seconds faster than the “fastest lap” that is recorded.
because i went over the rumble strips/cut corners it was deemed not acceptable by the game though
i know it doesn’t matter in the great scheme of things, but i did work to get that fastest lap,and to not have it recorded is a bit off
You are referring to the “dirty Lap” - this is to ensure that times on the leaderboards are fair to everyone.
Don’t draft/get drafted, crash (into other vehicles or scenery), rewind, and stay within the boundaries of the track - this means don’t cut the corners. Part of racing is learning the tracks and in Forza that includes the learning the legal limits of the track.
You will also get a dirty lap if you do any of these in the last timing sector of the previous lap (it will dirty the next lap - rewind being the only thing that this doesn’t apply to).
We have all had great laps ruined by a slight misstep on the track or by another player/AI. It is all part of the racing an drives us to go back and try again. and again, and again…you get the idea!
I have only recently learned about the dirty laps on this game and the indicator it shows so I went back to my favorite track (Nurburgring) and did a clean lap with no incident icon yet it still did not count my fastest lap and it said i beat my next time challenger but at the end of the race put me back to my last time. Any reason for that? It was a clean lap and I managed to beat my fastest by around 3-4 seconds and Im pissed that it put me back.
You must maintain your connection to the servers for every second of the lap otherwise it isn’t recorded and reportedly the servers for FM3 are having problems lately.
I have experienced a similar problem. I’ve even seen the dirty indicator flag up on the same corner on which it registered “perfect corner” ! Very frustrating !
