I don’t understand what I could possibly be doing wrong unless T10 have messed up their idea of ‘Normal’ steering settings being that they assume we all have a wheel. While I do have a wheel it isn’t compatible for the Xbox unfortunately and will not be investing in another one. But my issue is now that drifting on here now feels like I have simulation settings on, there’s no control like I have on forza 3, 4, horizon 1 and horizon 2. Now I have been drifting on Forza all the time after I properly learnt I had been using like 750hp up cars, heck I even had been drifting a 1200hp Supra on Horizon 2 but felt I couldn’t get enough speed through corners but why the hell is it now that despite any of my knowledge of tuning, absolutely none of that will make any affect to how my car behaves.
On Forza Motorsport 6 you can drift with around 300hp even a little less. Seems to me that you just need to get some more practice in.
I take it your didn’t play Forza 5? Drifting on that was lets say meh. Forza 6 is easy compared to that.
But i like my power Transitioning is my biggest issue. Sometimes the car doesnt wanna always break loose with the first crack of the e brake.
Also transitioning will sometime just yank the car into a wild spin as if it were AWD… I’ve gotten down to having more control now by completely locking the differential and am now drifting with a mid 500 hp range, I’m fiddling around now with the tune a bit to quit the crapping ‘yanking’ I’m experiencing as many others are, if ever I do crack it and am drifting like normal again I may do a video to help others out by having a benchmark to go from maybe. But for now I’m going to upgrade the power a bit more in the mid 600, upgrade the tyres a bit more maybe and see from there.
If you guys can’t tune you can’t complain about drifting. It’s you not the game
If you can’t read it’s your fault, not the teachers.
Just an update, It’s getting better, the transitioning sometimes is still just stupid to the point you will spin uncontrollably or at least put you sideways to a stop but control is good for now, just over 700hp with the Tokyo drift 350Z, trying now with the ‘devil’ S15 with 666hp and see if the same tune will give similar response.
I personally would drop the HP down an bit and then put your front tyre pressure to somewhere between 32-35, found it generally helps me with transitioning.
I would recommend double-checking your controller deadzones if you haven’t already. I personally like having my inside deadzones at 5 and outsides at 95 - the stock controller deadzone settings look like they’re made for people with worn-out thumbsticks.
That aside, the tuning is definitely something to fiddle with extensively, as there are some new little quirks to be found in this game in terms of drifting
