Is the tuning formula from Forza 4 stll applicable?

Hi all,

First of all I am so excited that I just bought Forza 6! Back to less than 1 year ago I have completed all racing in Forza 4 with difficult level and won all of them. Back to the time I spent loads of time studying how to tuning and used some formulas as well. For example Forza Motorsport 4 Tuning and Car Upgrades Guide - SegmentNext or Global Sim Racing - Donpost's Tuning Guide for Forza Motorsport and the formula link in that post as well.

I just want to know, do you think between Forza 6 and 4 there are lots of changes and I have to re-learn everything or I can carry my knowledge vastly from Forza 4?

Hi,

I don’t think there is a lot of changes between the games.
The basis of tuning seems to be the same.
But you can only know by trying new set ups

I think if you were a good tuner in FM4 you will most likely be good here too. You will not be able to put a tune from 4 on a car here and expect the same result. But, you will be able to fix a problem area with the same type of adjustments. Welcome to 6. You can go to the tuners section here and find the same tuning guide that was posted in the FM4 forums. As far as re-learning, I think it’s more of just adapting to the differences.

The basics and the menus are the same. You might need some time to get used to the game’s handling characteristics but once you do it’s pretty much the same philosophy as before.

One notable difference this time round is that AWD isn’t as disadvantaged PI-wise as it used to be.

Thanks for all the response!
