Is the trending livery system broken? Mine 50k download design suddenly removed

I am absolutely losing my mind right now. I just got completely blocked from online servers, can’t join my friends, and received an “Inappropriate UGC” ban because my custom livery became successful.

A few days ago, mine design hit 50,000 downloads and entered the trending section. It had ZERO political symbols, and absolutely nothing that violates the Code of Conduct. It was just pure, hard work that the community loved.

Today, I log in only to find out that my livery has been completely wiped from the servers, and my account is restricted from online matchmaking (Incident ID: 554081433). I strongly suspect that I was targeted and reported by certain players, and Turn 10’s broken automated system just banned me without a single human reviewing it.

The biggest irony? A few days ago, I reported a literal cheater who was using third-party software to exploit credits and was literally flying around in a BUS. Turn 10 support sent me a message today saying “We reviewed your concern and were unable to act / no violation found”.

So, if you cheat and fly around in a bus, you are safe. But if you spend hours creating a clean livery and get 50k downloads, you get banned from playing with your friends.

I’ve already submitted an official appeal, but I wanted to share this here to warn other creators. The automated moderation in FH6 is completely broken and punishes the wrong people.

It’s nothing new that liveries just vanish. But in FH5 it usually only happened after publishing a lot of liveries. (Or at least that was the perception on the forum.)

I hope they finally start fixing this issue if it’s even worse in FH6.

(Also in 5 they sometimes reappeared after a few days if it happened early,… So there might be some hope for it sorting itself out.)

Edit, one of the old topics from FH5. (There were/ are more,…)

Thanks for sharing this insight and the old FH5 topic, @AbsorbedSpy2305. It’s both a relief and incredibly frustrating to see that this has been a chronic issue with the franchise.

However, my situation seems a bit more severe than just a disappearing asset bug. Along with the livery being removed, I actually received an official automated “Violation of Forza Code of Conduct” notification in my in-game Message Center under an Incident ID for “Inappropriate UGC”. Because of this automated trigger, my account is currently facing a total multiplayer/server restriction, and I can’t even connect to online sessions or play with friends.

So the system didn’t just hide my hard work; it actively penalized my entire profile based on what I strongly believe are malicious mass-reports on a trending item.

I really hope Turn 10 looks into how their automated flagging system handles high-download liveries in FH6. I have submitted an official ticket, but seeing that this has historical roots makes me worry even more.

In FH5 I had one in the top 10 that disappeared. I started a support ticket and they wiped the history. The next one I got in the top 10 disappeared also. Having learned my lesson I moved on. It showed up back in the top 10 in a day or two. The second for sure didn’t have anything to do with any more sharing. I haven’t noticed or even looked in 6.

Wow, that is wild @WhiteBurrito42. It’s incredibly scary to hear that support’s solution back then was to just wipe the entire history of a top 10 livery. That completely defeats the purpose of spending hours designing something for the community.

However, since my design’s removal came packaged with an official automated in-game warning message and a full online matchmaking block, I am terrified that opening a ticket might prompt them to “wipe the history” of my 50k download livery as well—assuming they even look at it manually.

Oh, so yours got reported,… well nothing strikes me on your livery as particularly offensive. Maybe someone had a gripe with the anime girl.
I was refering to liveries disappearing without any third party reporting them. (At least I and probably others never got any messages about that. Also never had an impact on other online features.)

You’re only option is the support. Never had any liveries reported so can’t really say anything about the process,…

Exactly, that’s why it’s a targeted report issue rather than a random server glitch.

It’s a shame that the automated system immediately sides with malicious reports and locks creators out of the game before an actual human verifies the content.

Thank you for the insight and the help @AbsorbedSpy2305 I’ve already sent a detailed ticket to support and I’m currently waiting for a manual review. Fingers crossed they actually restore it instead of wiping the stats.

Sincerely good luck. I don’t see anything that would make me think it should be banned.

For reference, the character seen here is Ashley Graves from the game “The Coffin of Andy & Leyley”

I think someone probably reported the livery out of spite, and an automated system took action without properly reviewing it. In my opinion, there are much bolder liveries out there that remain available without any issues.

Whoever reported your livery must have been a very unhappy person and not particularly aware of the kind of game they’re playing. With Forza Horizon 6 being set in Japan, it’s only natural that there will be a huge number of liveries inspired by anime and manga—that’s simply to be expected.

Big companies like cheap and easy solutions. Kill them all and let God sort them out is cheaper and easier than making a judgement call.

That’s corporate behavior in a nutshell. For example, sometimes people spread rumors about you, and within moments everyone loses trust in you, while rebuilding your reputation can take months. It’s also like when you give it your all and work for years to earn a raise, but one small mistake — even if you fix it yourself or solve the problem it caused — is enough to get you reprimanded and lose your bonus. And as for another raise, you can forget about it for the next few years.
