Is it just me or is Super7 not really fun? I think the lack of checkpoints ruins it for me as I can just drive to the end.
I also haven’t found any remotely challenging. Is the community just bad at creating good Super7 challenges?

I didn’t care for it at all. What did I even do it for? Was it the Savannah RX-7 or something?
I went through it three times for the accolade, and out of those there was probably one that was almost enjoyable/challenging. Again last night for the police siren, all seven were extremely dull or pointless.
Fun? No. Tedious? Yes.
You were lucky btw, some of the challenges are very hard, it’s just luck of the draw. I did it yesterday to get the police siren, all mine were easy enough on this occasion.
I feel if they simply added checkpoints then Super7 would be amazing. But without checkpoints it seems super bad.
Some are genuinely well thought out and fun and a great. But there is also a lot of rubbish.
The Joe Song ones are very good.
There are never that challenging but that was never the ideal I think until High Stakes came along. Mostly it’s just a little grind to get a car.
In FH5 so far the prizes haven’t been that great. In FH4 you can get a few decent H2F cars that way.
SuperStakes was much more challenging and struck a better balance but again some of the harder challenges were just ridiculously hard or deliberately impossible.
It requires quite a lot of thought and time to create challenging yet fair and non-exploitable courses.
Guanajuato is the easiest place to do it due to the natural barriers (houses).
Everything in the open is very susceptible to cutting and other stuff that kills the fun.
Since most people won’t take the effort to create well planned ones (especially without an edit function) we end up with the boring & awful challenges which make up over 90%.
It was the same in Horizon 4 and is always the case if the selection isn’t moderated or the editor isn’t extremely potent.
Rockstar moderated its GTA Online editor in the beginning, manually selecting player created deathmatches, races and other modes. For example they contacted me over a race I created and prompted me to alter some checkpoint placements. Then it was a Rockstar fearured race visible for all players on the map.
They even adopted some player ideas into official game modes.
Thus, the easily visible and often played creations were at least of some quality and fun.
Here they are not.
Tried it and wasn’t much fun for me. The first event was ‘drive in a straight line to win’ the other was a danger sign where you landed on rocks almost every time thus marking it as ‘failed’ and then I didn’t bother with it anymore.
