Hey guys, I had a Microsoft wheel before but it seemed to have wanted to die on me. I was thinking of getting a Fanatec CSR wheel but was wondering if it is worth buying one?
It entirely depends on the level of immersion that you want from the game. The pad, they argue, might be slightly faster overall but perhaps may lose out on high speed tracks where the wheel’s precision can gain advantages. If you feel like you want to, then go for it.
I definitely miss my Fanatec in FM5. I would opt for the wheel. The experience is “more real.” A couple years back, I had (thank you, Wife!) a celebration of my birthday in a Porsche 997 Turbo, with auto-clutch paddle shifters on the steering wheel on a road course.
You ride with an instructor in the passenger seat, and he started out by telling me braking and shift points. After the first two turns, he said he obviously didn’t need to call out the shifts, so he would just concentrate on telling me where to push it further. That’s because I use the paddle shifters on the Fanatec (GT2 version).
Overall, a very pleasant experience, both on the real road course and in the game itself. A wheel in the game really brings it to life.
I have the mad catz wheel and it’s been fun. I am so bad using just a controller. But, I am looking at getting the
Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel by Microsoft Software.
its not going to be compatible with forza 5/xbox one and never will be. it is still compatible with pc racers, if you are moving on to pc racers after fm4 it could be worth it, if not i would save the money.
