is it worth buying Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition

hey,
is was wondering ifiitis worth buying Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition
cause that is going to be my first forza and what does the Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition have what the normal one not has??

Thnx

Absolutely yes! Though it costs $40 more, you’ll get about $55-$60 worth of DLC included (VIP $20, Car Pass $30, and the All-Stars Car Pack, which I think is $7), not to mention the fact that you get to play 4 days early. I’d say it’s a great deal, which is why I got the Ultimate Edition myself.

Really depends. Do you want to buy vip and carpass. Yes sure. Not going to buy it? Then the ultimate edition it’s not worth it.

Well put, actually. Ultimately it’s a bundle for people who want all the day one content on day one, giving you a discount and early access.

Is the VIP worth it? Is the Car Pass worth it? I’m sure you can decide those yourself. But if for one of those the answer is no, I wouldn’t reccomend the UE, unless you absolutely /must/ be playing on the 23rd.

True, I guess it would depend on if you want the extra content/early access. If you’re certain you’ll want the extra DLC, then you should get the UE-it’ll save you money in the long run. I personally decided I wanted VIP and the Car Pass, and I’ll be playing the heck out of it, so it only made sense for me to get the UE.

In the long run it won’t save you money. The game will be cheaper and all DLCs eventually go on sale. The positive is you’ll be waiting a while because prices tend to hold well for Forza products so it is beneficial to get it all now vs. hoping to stumble on a sale a year from now.

Very true. I didn’t think about that! But seriously, who would want to wait?

VIP never means much until later on, They always do something special for VIPs to make it worth it.

It used to be that VIP gave you additional storefront slots and you showed up at the top in AH listings. Idk if the same is happening again, but if so the extra slots were very handy for me in previous titles.

Didn’t it used to give you discounts on big expansions too?

No clue. There was Porsche in FM4 but I don’t remember there being any actual expansions in those games. Only got the base version of FH.

I have always gone for the most extreme edition of the game preferably in a Steelbook Edition (please Forza release a steelbook edition for Forza 6) not only do they usually have unique features, lobbies and cars but I always thought it made sense to have all of the games features in one pack as opposed to buying the game in dribs and drabs.

Honestly for it being your first Forza game I would say just get the regular edition. You can always get car packs/VIP on sale later on if you really want. Unless you really enjoy steelbooks and playing the game early, I can’t really suggest it to a newcomer.

Anyone remembers the days of the CEs? Where you got something physicly and only paid like 20€ more? Now it’s 40€ and there is not much special. You can get all the stuff afterwards. That’s what I’ll be doing. I preordered the normal version for under 50€ and as soon as the stuff comes on sale, I guess around christmas, Inget the other stuff with 50% discount (normaly). For me it’s a waste of money to go for the UE, BUT it might be different for you and you are very happy with it.
The one good thing about waiting is, that you already know what cars are coming as DLC. A lot of people were upset in FM6, and the best packs weren’t covered. Sooo bottom line, it’s not a yes/no question :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve logged almost 35 days on Forza Horizon 2. For me the ultimate edition is definitely worth it  Saved 20% off MSRP buying through amazon too

From my experience and personally for me, it was completely worth purchasing UE because I’ve been a Fan for a while, right back when Forza 2 was the only decent Microsoft alternative to Gran Turismo.

Financial wise (using my currency) You’re looking at £130/£140 through the standard edition JUST getting the car packs as they come out through the months. Throw in the VIP pass and that’s another £20, and in the end it just makes more sense to get the ultimate edition. Sure there will be discounts at some point for the DLC’s within a year and discounts on the passes in the next 2, but IMO you’ll be waiting till the 4th or even the 6th car pack before you’ll see discounts for anything.

BUT, this isn’t so important if your approach is more casual than the die hard Forza fans amongst us. The advertisements and YouTube videos have been enough to sell you on the standard game edition. You might not get as much cash from wheel spins, and you won’t get to drive around in certain cars, but Forza still gives you the option to buy individual cars rather than fork out month after month if you just want one or 2 new cars.

Overall, it’s your decision. The UE doesn’t give you a better game or change it to something different. It’s an incredible experience regardless of which way you choose to go.
A couple of notes:
Horizon 3 is 47GB to download. 30MB should download within an hour to a couple of hours, but a slow or weak connection could see as long as 12 hours total download time. Can start PLAYING at 40% on xbox but I advise waiting until 90% so you can start and progress without any hiccups.
Hard copies of UE are limited, some stores only took 14 pre orders while others took a mere 8.
Horizon 3 demo is available on Microsoft Store.
It’s 18GB and theirs a small part of the map for you to drive around in after doing some of the races (no customisation though).
Rewards from the Forza Hub and previous titles are not affected by UE. Each tier of the hub rewards a car for free.
