Is it true track cuts dont affect safety rating?

I’ve been told this but I’m unsure of its true.

Are collisions the only penalties that effect safety eating now?

I mean that would not be a bad thing, as track cuts don’t affect other players.
But there was no official statement in any release notes, so if that’s true I’m at least not aware of it.

Do you mean using the curbs? You are supposed to use the curbs. If you use too much curb and go beyond the track limit you may get a penalty if it saves you time. You can turn on track limits in the hud settings. 2 wheel rule. You must not have more than 2 wheels over track limits. Yellow is ok if you have the track limits on.

I mean specifically track limit penalties.

No, it’s not true. Incurring track limit penalties will reduce your safety rating if you obtain enough of them.

Track cuts do affect safety rating. One of the patches reduced the effect of track cuts on safety rating, but it is still there and still significantly affects it. Especially if you are a fast driver. It was explained to us in the insider forums, and a fast driver can lose time on a cut and still get a significant penalty because of how it works. They said they will be looking at it after they improve the collision penalties.

On a related note… Do penalties during practice & qualifying affect safety rating?

As far as I know they do not. Sometimes I’ll just drive around in practice and not do the race. I’m not the only one. Nothing has ever changed from that.

Good question. I know they aren’t nearly as harsh, especially track limit penalties.

But i also know you can get DQed for track limit penalties which is stupid.

If you’re trying to find the limit at the chicane at daytona IRL, it’s standard to go straight on, but in Forza if you dont lose control in the grass you get DQed lool.
