Is it possible to get a refund for a digital version?

I bought the game for my PC, but unfortunately I am done wasting my time to make the game playable.
In addition to awful performance I am unable to play online. This was my main reason for buying the game and after hours of trying every possible fix I give up.

Contact the retailer you bought it from
Only they can refund you…if at all

About playing online there’s a pinned post in the pc support section
I looked at it yesterday for the first time
Took me less than 5 minutes to be happily playing online with my PC

oookkkk. I have doubts that you are playing on PC. Reason? There aren’t any retailers for PC version.

This is where you are wrong
If you bought it digital..same as i did..
Xbox.com is the retailer..that’s who you pay your money too
You aren’t buying direct from turn 10 or playground

Also i never said my pc was old..just not gonna spend $1000s on a pc

But it looks like you got your answer which is what i suggested to you in the first place
Xbox support

I see, but that is Microsoft Store who is not a retailer. It’s their game sold on their store. Xbox store is the same thing.
But yeah. Contacting support it my only option and seems like it will take a while.

As it says in the fine print when you buy stuff digitally,

“No refunds for this purchase”

MS are still under consumer law. Disclaimers like this are only there to dissuade people from seeking a refund. Quite frankly they are wishful thinking. If a product does not work as advertised then you are entitled to have it repaired free of charge or a refund (Your choice) Digital content is no different to buying a fridge/freezer/whatever. Contact MS directly and if they do not respond (likely outcome) then take it to the ombudsman after giving them a week or two and I guarantee you’ll get a result.

Agree 100% I would be fine with choppy or crappy optimized game becasue that may be the cause behind drivers. This game, however, is missing the crucial feature which is online and thus not a product as advertised.

And yet, they very rarely, if ever, give refunds. All purchases, expecially digital content, are final. It would take something pretty disasterous (cough)no mans sky(cough) to get a refund from a digital purchase. Otherwise, they will just laugh at you.

Sorry to say it, but that is the bottom line truth.

And have you the statistics? Just how would you know how many refunds have been denied, and how many of those went through fair trading? Me smells someone talking out of their own thoughts where as I have done a consumer law subject. Please tell me this aint so.

@OP, if by rare chance you bought it from a retailer, speak to them and they should be able to help you. If you bought the game from Microsoft’s store, you’ll need to call them up and speak to them.

I refunded my Ultimate version a week back as I could not access VIP or DLC cars - did it via MS support chat and had no problems at all - I then repurchased the Deluxe version and everything unlocked right away and it kept my savegame progress stored on or in (never sure which) the Cloud. If it doesn’t work and your claim is legitimate I cannot see them refusing you.

Thank you! On it now.

“A sign in a shop that states. “No refunds on sale items” breaches s29(l)(m) an (n) as it denies consumers the right to contractual remedies for faulty items and the protection of the ACL statutory guarantees.” My textbook then sites cases where fines have been issued.

Now, please share how this is incorrect? As I said earlier, digital content is viewed exacty like any other good. Im assuming the US also has consumer legislation of a similar nature.

Thank you very much. They didn’t want to give me a refund. Inserted your comment and got a refund within 2 min. THANKS!

Not sure how the game is broken on PC
It’s working perfect on mine and it would be classified as a budget pc…barely minimum requirements
Guess it depends on how well your pc is setup or what else you are doing on it

That seems to be the problem. It runs well on older PC’s and shitty on newer. Nothing to with what else is going on it at the moment of playing or how well it is set up.

So is the game broken or is your pc not as good as my xbox

This is my PC. Not sure if your xbox is better or worse https://i.reddituploads.com/d657e81972d34c8491d2cc5d5a413051?fit=max&h=1536&w=1536&s=efb236e8925608fb7e158092f8aa42d5

And Microsoft Store and xbox store are both still retailers

I went through the steps on this page and my online for pc for fh3 was fixed
Took maybe 5 minutes
