Is it me or the Mustang GT a bit of a handful?

I just got Forza 6 and have been doing a bunch of races. I am doing the Night time races with the Ford Mustang GT that I won on the spin your reward thingy and after upgrading and tuning to close to regulations, I can’t still quite grasp its handling.
I am imagining its normal since its a rear wheel drive V8.

Btw, driving with all assists off except steering set to normal.

2 things. Its probably you and having the assists off and also night races affect the track just like real life. Track and tire temps get cold which affect handling.

I don’t think the Mustang is any worse than any other heavy, powerful, rear-wheel-drive car, but those factors together will make any car “a bit of a handful” until you get the feel for it. Kudos to you for driving with assists off; it will pay off in the long-run, so don’t let yourself get tempted to turn them on.

It needs to be tuned further. What class is it in?

P.S. learning to tune your own car goes a very long way so keep at it.

I believe it’s class B. Have only messed around with sports brakes, street tires and negative rear slip differential.

I’ll just leave this here lol - YouTube

The mustang gt is a really grippy car your new tto the game you have to just get used to the feel of it.

Try turning up the rear diff settings. I find that the diff isn’t really effective at preventing wheel slip unless it’s at 90+ for the acceleration setting. Increasing the deaccel will also help reduce off throttle oversteer and help with the application of throttle. Anti roll bars would be a good idea as well

I thought I had to decrease the rear slip differential. I had it at 30%. Strange, I was feeling the Stang a bit better. I got third place playing in Highly Skilled on the Sebring track.

Easy way to tell of you need to increase your accel setting… when coming out of the corner and you hit the gas if only one tire smokes then you need to raise it.

I run 90% of my accel diff anywhere between 40% and 70%.

If its to high the rear will want to slide out. I’m guessing you have more changes that need to happen to even make the diff make much of a difference.

Can you please post your tune for it that you have over in the tuning section so more of us tuners can look at what you have.

Easy guideline: if it doesn’t turn soften the front of the car. If it turns to much soften the rear of the car.

If you’re having a difficult time with a high powered RWD car on corner exit you need to turn the accel diff setting down, not up. This will create stability on throttle and it’ll be easier to keep the rear end planted.

If you’re having a difficult time with a RWD car on corner entry, turn the decel diff setting up, this will create more stability.

Try set up your mods before the race around the lines of grip rather than speed or just leave the engine stock and focus more on the anti roll bars, lower the height of the car a bit, race or sport brakes, weight reduction and increase speed little by little, just gotta feel certain cars out after awhile. The GT350 is amazing honestly, i race with that and the Z28 almost every time i play online and finish in the top 5
