Hello,
I’ve noticed that the “Vignette” effect, while the camera effects is set to “Simulation”, is broken since the last update 1.109.9571.2 (Nov 03).
We have, like you know, 3 options within camera effects…
- OFF … no camera effects… no shaking… static HUD.
- Normal… normal camera motions in effect in all views… static HUD
- Simulation… heavier camera motions in effect in all views… with moving HUD and Vignette effects in all corners of the screen. The faster you drive the more effect it has.
Now, since the lastest update, the vignette effect is broken. It goes ON for a fraction of a second and OFF again, rapidly. This is very noticeable when switching camera views. You can clearly see the edges of the screen going darker for a fraction. When set to Normal or OFF it doesn’t show this, like it suppose too. First I thought they had removed it, but since i’ve noticed these short dark flashes in the corners, then i knew it had to be broken and not removed. If they had, you wouldn’t see the dark flashes in the corners.
I like the Vignette effect while driving in chase mode, as it gives the corners of the screen a subtle and beautiful filter when driving fast. In cockpit view however, the effect is less subtle and results in a more or less heavier effect when driving fast… like a dark halo almost (with the edge of the vignette too strong at high speed). This doesn’t occur in chase view however.
Hope this will be fixed in a later Patch.
Thank you.
