Hi, 3 days ago I recontracted with my internet provider, I chose to remove my phone line, since I’ve been without any connection. Yesterday I was told I had to have a new account number and close my old down to resolve the issue, now it could take upto 2 weeks to get back online.
Since the games release I’ve done all the challenges upto 3 days ago, no internet means I can’t fulfill my 100% record. My question is does anyone know if I restarted the game from scratch deleting all save data, could I do season 1 again, or have I lost all chance of the prizes. Or can you still go back and do them even if season 2 is already in progress?
Unfortunately not bud, the game is a live service. Therefore when you eventually do get back online, you’ll be deep into Season Two and can’t go back. Once the Season One playlist ends and the Season Two playlist goes live by this time next week, it’ll be over and you’ll have missed out unfortunately.
Out of interest, your ISP isn’t British Telecom is it?
You guessed right, BT have seriously messed up!
Last week my home internet line failed, it took few days to have it fixed. In meantime I simply turned my phone hotspot on. Connection was good enough for everything.
Also as already said, seasons carry on as time goes on. Can’t get back, unless you have time machine
Mine was down recently, my provider offered to send me a mini hub to get me back online until it was fixed - arrived next day. I guess same principle as chap above but didn’t use my phone data, which was nice.
Lemmie guess… a new FullFibre BT Openreach install, right?
Existing BT customer, came home one night and a wire that comes from near my roof was dangling in my garden - thought to myself, hmm that’s not good and sure enough - no phone or internet.
To be fair they fixed it within a couple of days and I get to keep the mini hub (now de-activated from their end) but they can reactivate if I have a problem in the future. So pretty good idea really.
Glad you got is sorted man!
I only ask because I had a FullFibre 900 FTTP installation 3 weeks ago and they signed a few people on our street up when it went live and then notified us that the order was “indefinitely delayed” due to the network being still under construction and the live date in our area has been indefinitely delayed.
Luckily those BT Halo 4G h.u.b.s get sent out though, I didn’t want to use mine for connecting to my PC or XSX so I got my neighbour to hook me up to his 300Mbps dedicated business line he had installed and now we’ve got an extra long Ethernet cable out of his window and into mine so I can get online!
I hope you find the bird or bloke with a pair of ladders that knocked your line down and give ‘em a good whoopin’!
Internet is poor where I am, however I’ve got a nice cell tower at my backgarden.
So what I’ve done (and can be done for 4g hubs…) is setup a load balancer.
Buy a TP-Link 605 or R470T+ (they aren’t expensive).
Hook it up with your main internet into WAN 1 using Ethernet(turn off its WIFI), then get a cheap WIFI repeater with Ethernet Out and Hook your 4g upto WAN 2.
On Lan Out buy a WIFI Router (no modem one required or use an old ISP one in bridge mode) and setup your main WIFI or Main Ethernet Out from it.
This way if for any reason your main internet cuts out, the 4g will automatically kick in and takeover. You’ll not even notice the difference if you have good 4g coverage.
No need to mess around with cables or switching WIFI, it will just simply work. I think all in all I spent £50 max, as I used my old ISP router.
I’ve since expanded it all though, and got two ISP fixed Lines and one 4g failover, instead of 25Mbps and 1.5Mbps upload, I now over 300Mbps Download and 57Mbps Upload. The good thing is the load balancer still has a spare WAN in so I can increase the capacity should I wish. Ping can increase slightly, but for me it’s around 12ms - 20ms max I’ve seen once was 52ms.
1 main tip though is set your DNS on the router supplying the WIFI or Ethernet to your Xbox to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 and allow forwarding on the ports.
