So I’ve been working on a design for the 2008 Dodge Viper. It’s a somewhat simple design compared to some, of mostly black paint with some steel accents. I spent a lot of time adding the silver trim on the rear, hood, and door sills reminiscent of the gold trim on the 77 trans am. Shared three versions of it so far each numbered and progressively less steel showing and more refined and all have been instantly voted down to one star with zero downloads. I made a simple Lambo Huracan two tone “sunrise blue” paint job that is rated higher!? Though not well either at two stars. But it was a simple paint job with no decals. (I think it deserves 3)
But I’m not sure if maybe all designs start at one star which wouldn’t really make sense but then neither does taking away engine size information and other stuff turn 10 has done… Or is someone just down voting to one star for the fun of it. I find it hard to believe my design would be so hated. The latest version took me two days of work over 150 layers and probably 6 accumulated hours or more of my time. It is discouraging to have my design instantly dropped to one star especially without any downloads…
So does anyone know what is going on here are designs supposed to start at one star? I’m particularly proud of my latest version:
“Black Silver 6” and I had at least one more version of that particular black and silver theme I was going to do where I made the front hood scoop black except for a silver trim and the space between the hood vents and windshield black, but if they are so despised I’m wondering if there is really any rush in finishing if I’m the only one who even cares for it.
I just realized an earlier design I shared for the chryslus rocket (which as most of you know is a unicorn car) has 0 stars so I see that they most definitely don’t start at one star… so someone must be down voting my designs. People please check out my viper design I know it is better than one star. And I worry that it will never be seen if it and most everything else I release gets down voted within minutes of me sharing it. I’m not sure how the design sharing works as I never did it in pervious games other than if someone searches the right keywords they’ll show up. But I want my designs to have a chance to be seen.
I made a simple paint job for the new mustang too tried to replicate the factory “Guard Green” colour that was missing from factory colours for some reason and it was voted one star within minutes of sharing too. I get that it is not a complicated design but what’s with all the hate? Do I have an enemy out there I don’t know about!?
And the fact the mustang and viper both have zero downloads with the one star pisses me off even more. Rated one star, some within one single minute of sharing and no downloads so whoever rated as “terrible” barely looked at it.
Designs are not rated by T10 or anyone at the time of sharing it. All shared designs starts with one star and will earn more stars depending on the number of downloads, likes and uses by the community. You will receive a message and credits for the downloads, likes and uses of your design. 5 Stars will equates to about 105 (more or less) downdloads, likes and uses together.
In FM6 a design cannot be down-rated. If your design does not start at one star, then something else is wrong. Make sure the design says “public” and not “private” and perhaps ask a friend to search for it to see if he can find it and download it.
One way of improving your downloads is by entering your design into the T10 community Livery Competition. If it gets selected by T10, your design will featured amongst the first few when people search for designs. Dont feel bad if you dont get lots of likes, people are sometimes very hesitant to give likes or dont want to spend time on it.

Thanks so much I was starting to realize I am assuming things incorrectly when I could find no way to actually give a vote of 1 to 5 stars to someone’s design. Very confusing for them to use a 5 star system to rate at all. I guess that means some people actually liked my simple Lambo Huracan paintjob for it to get to two stars in a couple weeks.
What is funny is I first though someone was rating my viper down right away. Then the next day I started to think that it must just start at one star but I still thought you could vote 1-5 stars… Then I saw my chryslus rocket had zero stars so that made me again think it must really be someone voting me down then I started posting here and I totally forgot what exactly made me so sure that someone was voting me down lol hence why I didn’t mention the chryslus rocket in first post… I must be tired…
Anyway both of my shared chryslus rocket designs are rated with 0 stars. So I don’t know why that is. I’m thinking possibly to do with the fact they are unicorns… I don’t know maybe I should unshare and reshare to try to fix.
It was the first designs I shared. Just made the vent on the sides of the car a silver/chrome colour instead of the dull grey it comes with and shared one in red and one in black.
