I have just gained the badge for completing 25 paints rated 5 * and until now I hadn’t fully understood the way that the stars were awarded. I can now confirm that the system is very simple. All downloads, likes and uses are added up and 4 stars are awarded when the total reaches 42, and 5 stars are awarded when the total reaches 104.
Anyone sat with a 4 star paint on a total of 103 now knows that 1 more download, like or use will tip the design to 5 stars.
I haven’t checked but I assume the stars for tunes will be awarded in a similar manner.
I ran across your thread looking for a slightly older one I had made. I came up with slightly different numbers but the same methodology when I did mine. However, I recently noticed my numbers weren’t correct. When I did mine I had a 5 star design that was at 99 but now I have one at 102 that is still 4 stars. So, what you say makes sense and is more correct than mine for sure. I wonder if these targets change as you get more 5 star ratings or if they changed sometime between my post being created and yours.

I enjoyed great feedback from designs during F4 but now on F6 I barely get a view lol!
Very discouraging at times as I enjoy design as much if not more than racing.
