I’m at a stage where I can’t do anything in the game.
I bought the premium version but the game literally doesn’t want me to play it.
Here are the issues I’m having.
My driver level is at 926 with 4 prestige stars. Some people may find this funny or cool, but it is not. It is one of the most annoying bugs in the game. I have no sense of progression, I can’t measure my development in the game, it makes me feel like I don’t have a purpose to play the game. I hope when this gets fixed, my real progression is saved correctly and I can keep progressing.
The other bug is that my progression is not getting saved. I managed to play 3 tours on Builders Cup but it got stuck on the last race of tour 4. No matter how many times I complete that race it doesn’t get saved. I’ve given up on it already…
The same thing is happening in the multiplayer mode. after every race, my progression doesn’t get saved. And if I try to play any other mode, it says that the “data” hasn’t been fetched from the server.
In other words, I can’t play the game… I’m literally waiting for the patch to fix all that, otherwise, I just can’t play the game.
Imagine paying a lot of money for something you can’t use!? It almost feels like a nightmare, where you try to run but you can’t move.
I honestly think that this is the most disrespectful thing that has ever happened to me as a customer. Hey here is your product but you can’t use it, I’ll take your money though.
Anyways…
And now they just announced Update 2.0 which will be deployed only in mid-November. Which means I’ll have to wait until then to play the game. How do they want me to feel about that?
I’m writing this post hoping that someone can at least find a “solution” to the things I’ve mentioned above.
Ladies and gentlemen, I stand before you today with a heavy heart. They promised us a revolutionary driving experience, but what did we get? Forza Motorsport 8, a game so buggy, it makes a '90s dial-up connection look stable. My gaming years are being stolen from me, not by global warming, but by loading screens and frame drops.
Turn10 told us they built this game from the ground up. The ground must be shaky, because the game can’t even stand on its own two feet. They said this would be the best racing game ever. Well, if by “racing,” they meant a race to find the most glitches, then congratulations, they’ve won!
I should be cruising on the virtual Nürburgring right now. Instead, I’m here, lamenting the loss of features that once made this franchise great. It’s like ordering a luxury car and receiving a tricycle with a flat tire.
This isn’t just a game; it’s a metaphor for modern-day robbery, a heist in digital form. They took our money, and in return, gave us a virtual lemon.
So let’s make our voices heard. It’s time for Turn10 to shift gears and give us the game they promised, not the demo we never asked for. Thank you.
From October 5th (Early Access) to 2023-10-28T18:00:00Z, a span of whopping 24 days, I was finally able to complete 1 (ONE) Career Series in Forza Motorsport.
Today I launched the game, only to find it 4/5 progress completion. As it did not save my progress. I neither Quit the game using ALT+F4, infact, I am aware of the Infinite Loading Screen bug when installing tunes or upgrading car, so I decided to complete all the 5 races with the car I started as it is (bone stock). Completed the series, went back to menu, upgraded the car, added livery, exited the game. Launched the game today and found out I have not completed the series and I’m back to 4/5 race progression.
It’s incredible. Tonight I did 9 races. Of these, 3 were saved at the end in the career. 6 races I just had to drive and these were not scored again and again. Won the premium series in the Builders Cup 3x until it counted.
In the track exotics, I could not complete any race as finished, none of them counted. In Spa, the track was replaced by a mirror or a black hole during the race.
It’s unbelievable how long someone can go without fixing a game like this…
Still so many bugs, single-player, replay but especially in multiplayer, it would become laughable if it wasn’t so pathetic for a game from such a studio and given the resources injected, today at least 10 bugs/crashes/freezes not counting the returns to the reception and the loss of time in testing and qualifying.
What can we say about the spoiled multiplayer with its totally null penalty system that doesn’t punish bad players.
My progress got erased as well i was doing whatever the last tour is to win the audi. I finished the race, got the audi and the achievement for winning 3 tours went to do something else got the message to try again later. I did a hard reset of the console i still had the audi but had to do the last 2 races again, did them an achievement popped for winning 4 tours which i didnt actually do but it saved and i was able to keep playing. So try a hard reset either unplug or hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds or whatever.
I still can’t believe Turn10 and Microsoft did NOT delay the release of this game, knowing full well the terrible state the game was and is still in. Turn10 has done irreversible damage to it’s own name to the extent they will forever be labelled as liars, thieves and overall incompetent as a company.
I played today multiplayer like 8 hours and game just randomly crash in menu, thats new for me. many time like twice a hour. Really annoying. On top of that some old loading crashes.
This is such as mess, hard to believe microsoft is so bad to realease so bad product.
How is this game so inconsistently bad for some???
Playing on PC, I am over level 200 with only one lock-up when browsing my garage.
For reference this is custom built PC, I have owned an IT consulting company for 30 years. It is used exclusively as a driving sim rig. Only Windows 11, drivers, and games/sims. ABSOLUTELY nothing else installed or running. No streaming, no discord, no second monitor, etc.
I have the disappearing track issue that everyone else has and other than that, not a single other bug, crash, or stability issue.
I wish you all better luck on the game. I know I would not have the patience to still be trying at this point. WRC early access is tomorrow night and it doesn’t cost extra to get it. Maybe get your driving fix with that.
For what its worth, I’m also running a custom built PC with W11, no custom trickery, long-time IT / Cybersecurity nerd.
The progression issue is because career progress specifically is due to some bug that happens when it attempts a cloud save, then at some point another process will encounter the exception/bug (such as buying a car, an upgrade or applying a paint, this triggers another save attempt) and will result in the eternal hang.
Upon quitting the game, of course your cloud save never uploaded, and the game appears to have ZERO ability to retain a local copy to upload to the cloud upon reconnection (Something many, many other games with lesser budgets are capable of) so all progress you had pending is gone.
What I find particularly annoying is that Credits and CarXP (Which I hate, please let us buy parts instead of some childish grindfest) are saved locally, I’m honestly not sure why career progress couldn’t do the same.
It just smacks of bad technical decisions all around and very poor play testing before release.

I completely agree with you, the game should never have been released in this state, they should have postponed the release and accepted the fact that it was not ready, that’s all.
Delivering a game in this state is unprofessional and takes away all credibility from the studio and terribly harms the game.
Given the number of issues and missing content, they will not be fixed for a long time.

Je suis entièrement d’accord avec toi, le jeu n’aurait jamais dû sortir dans cet état, ils auraient dû repousser la sortie et assumer le fait qu’il n’était pas prêt c’est tout.
Livrer un jeu dans cet état n’est pas professionnel et enleve toute crédibilité au studio et nui terriblement au jeu.
Vu le nombre de problèmes et d’absences de contenus, ils ne seront pas corrigés avant un long moment
For what it’s worth, I’ve worked in the field for 30+ years and do software engineering and testing, and have a custom built PC with win 11 no trickery and it’s been fairly stable for me in regards to my datas being correct between home and cloud. Does it hang some times on connection and act wonky? Yeah.
Do I see the bug where my CR and level are not correct after leaving some events, yeah… does it eventually correct itself, yeah also. Just adding - all things being equal between us - I don’t see that issue.
Not happy seems to be a theme.
Given up on career mode, had progression bug since pre-release.
Multiplayer yesterday was like a ghost town.
One race 4 people.
Only lobby with more than 10 the GT class.
How did Turn 10 miss these game breaking bugs? The game will be dead before it works.
