Hi guys,
I recently received a pre-order for FM6 as a gift, but as of right now I only have a receipt that says it was purchased online from Microsoft and that it is the Deluxe Edition. If you live in the United States and purchased this, and were already able to download the game (but are obviously not able to play it yet), how did you download it?
I’m guessing this is not for a physical disc version of the game, because as far as I know, the Deluxe Edition only exists as a downloadable game currently. Is that correct?
Did you receive a downloadable code via email or is this tied to the account which made the purchase? I’m hoping that it isn’t the latter or else we may just have to try and get a refund. If it’s a code, I can have the gift-giver check their inbox (they already did that but perhaps it showed up later).
If you bought the game from MS, as in the Microsoft Store it’s just the base day one version and physical. If you bought the game from xbox.com or the marketplace from the system, it should be available to download right now from other posts. The biggest tell is how much you paid. If it’s 60$ (assuming US currency), if it’s 100$ than its deluxe. Any purchases from xbox are tied to the account used to purchase the item. Brick and mortar MS stores may have a code specifically for the deluxe version but you would likely need to go back there. where I work we would just sell standard currency. Or to those who need a physical game, the game and money or codes for the vip and car pass.
Best thing i can offer would be to find out how and where the gifter preordered.
Ah, thank you, this clears it up. If it’s all tied to the account that purchased it, we’ll have to get a refund so that I can purchase it on my own account. It’s a shame they don’t just send a code, but I suppose this is safer against someone stealing that code. Thanks guys! That cleared it up.
