it’s the only way some of these players are going to get the rewards! i know its a pain but keep doing them over and over to help out the ones that aren’t as fast as you!! be a good guy!!
Convoy up with 2 other fast drivers and you 3 can carry the team!!
The last few rewards have all been cars that can be obtained elsewhere. It’s all well and good wanting to help people, but really, those people should spend a little more time on lower drivatar difficulties first before trying Unbeatable.
It’s co op and repeatable so isn’t that big of a deal compared to those people who play ranked matches in FPS games and get a KD of 0-25 or contribute nothing to the objective, but it’s the same principle. Those types of players are far more common these days with Game Pass and it’s utterly frustrating how much time it wastes for those who want to/can play the game properly. Especially if we don’t have much time to play.
It’s supposed to be the ultimate test of your own ability (not my words but FH4’s).
Nowhere in that is making up for other people’s lack of ability or effort part of the equation.
You do not need to be any good at the game to score 100-200pts, just trying to drive properly and not being an idiot will mean you’ll beat 1 drivatar at the very least and contribute something.
It’s never going to happen but I and others suggested 2 things during FH4’s life to cut the waste of time drivers down a chunk, either have a qualifier to prove you’re competent enough to race vs the trial AI or a plain and simple 0pts over the 2 or 3 races = no reward if the team still manages to win.
I really would have no problems helping them, but they are generally the ones wrecking you at the start of the race. Or they are creating a traffic jam by smashing onto each other and the AI. Until they learn to leave the faster players alone there is absolutely no helping them. O can usually pull in steady 2nd and 3rd places unless I got some rager in an over powered car they can’t drive constantly smashing into me.
Today was a prime example, hyper drive up to me, smash into me, bounce off the wall, rinse and repeat. I refused to even help that team after that, little kids want to play bumper cars, I’ll just take the exp. and hope the next team is competent. Got lucky on the second attempt, the one little child realized real quick if the wreck the faster players they would lose as I just sat in last place letting Jr. win it all.
Relax, you’re doing fine
Congratulations.
No. Its not selfish. Its the only way some people will learn to drive, and its the only way some rewards can be achieved. If you dont like it, talk to the devs, so they dont force people to do the trial if they want the second reward. People who complain all the time about newbies doing trials should just stop, really its getting idiotic at this point.
But how many of those people are just playing the game in Game Pass for a couple hours then uninstalling, never to play again? There should at least be entry requirements.
That feels a bit gate-keeperish to be honest, my advice would be ‘let it go’.
Otherwise, I need to critique your argument.
“constant 0 pointers”
Unless we’re omnipotent we can’t actually know if someone is having a bad experience during the trial we’re in or are consistently bad. We just can’t.
We see them for 3 races. Maybe we see them come last in all 3 races. That doesn’t mean they’re universally hopeless.
It’s also possible that what you’re seeing is someone otherwise good who had a brain fade and tuned for the wrong event type.
Or someone who’s just having “one of those days”. Any player, experienced or not, can end up at the back of the pack. Bad physics bounce just as you’re coming over a ridge? knocked off a checkpoint by another car (player or drivatar)? Can spoil your whole race and knock you from podium to the back in a few seconds.
Sure the truth is players with less experience may be running the Trial, absolutely. Are they likely to place in the bottom half of the finishes? maybe so.
At the same time, the trial despite the difficultly level of drivatars isn’t anywhere near unbeatable, and it takes more than a couple of slow drivers to pull your team score down to a loss.
The only FH5 trials my team hasn’t won - the ones I’ve dropped out of, because even if we’re going to win, what annoys me more than losing on points is drivers in the trial who have tuned for max speed without handling and turn each corner into a bloodbath, emerging in front but slamming everyone, player & drivatar alike, to get there and then slamming into you because they “have to be first!”. I can handle a couple of people scoring 0. I can’t handle the obnoxious experienced players.
Apparently you did, by making it personal. Thanks for the coronation!
It’s nothing to do with self-importance by the way, but nice try. It’s about time wasters and it’s no different to grossly underequipped/underleveled/inexperienced players playing a higher difficulty than they should be in any other game and inconveniencing at best and costing at worst the rest of the team as a result. Thinking they deserve to be carried despite contributing nothing, or that The Trial is the best place for them to practice against unbeatable AI (which it’s really not) is self-importance.
Yes, because only people who finish 1st every time are entitled to an opinion, clearly.
I don’t claim to be an expert driver or ‘king’, but I do contribute to the team effort by finishing in the top 7 in every race. What exactly do constant 0-pointers contribute? You seem to be suggesting that the game mode is designed for 0-pointers to be carried as an inherent feature. How exactly is that fun or fair?
Record your races and post them here for us all to see if you’re that good.
For the record you couldn’t even beat me in that Trial we ended up in together in FH4 and I was spending more time driving a bus + Trashmaster in GTA V than playing FH4 at that point in the game’s life.
The scoring doesn’t work on winning, it works on following each other in a line. If you try to come 1st you are actually making it more likely to lose points by accidentally knocking someone out of the gates. We would have won the match, and there would have been two zero points in that match. So all you are doing is making up new rules for the game that don’t exist. Are you that guy that argues in every post?
Well there is no challenge really, I know from that Trial that Aqua’s decent but his claim in that post is just stupid + impossible, even scoring the whole 650 the other 3 drivers have to get a good amount of points too to make up for 2 people scoring 0 so it wouldn’t be just him carrying 2 0-pointers.
