I think Meet-ups have been changed?

Either… Im going nuts or Turn 10 have made some changes behind the scenes to Meetup lobbies

Just joined a lobby where…

  • Going off circuit - Ghosts your car
  • Going the wrong way - Ghosts your car.

Anyone else getting these?

scratch that…

joined another lobby. everythings still the same…

Then, according to your first post, one can only conclude you are indeed going nuts!

mate… I was about to scream to the moon with joy in that I could join meetups with people who were unable to destroy your session by deliberately driving backwards.

am sad now XD

I tried one after the game had a mini update earlier and just got knocked about all over the place. Loads of apologies being flung about, but no effort to stop the causes of the hollow, pointless apologies. I just left again straight away and they’re not for me. I actually now think of them as like a children’s play area, for those that don’t want to race.

I went into a drift on Atlanta last night and so many were just going round in circles (including across the track) and ruining it for anyone wanting to do what these events were supposed to be for, if they weren’t in fact always intended as a holding pen away from the racing.

Got me curious to have yet another look. I’ve somehow done 3 laps at Spa that were all clean. First time I’ve managed a clean lap in a meet up. Lot of track at Spa, but I even got in the way of a GT3R and held him up (not deliberately or to antagonise, just was) and they were very patient and clean. Can’t believe it. Probably a one off?

Anyway, now sat at the side of the track and watching is less good, because everyone is ghosted to me.

I really don’t like the ghosting at all, wish it wasn’t a thing in the game, but that’s a separate topic maybe and I understand the clientele/positioning results in it being pretty useful.

Nahhh somethings funky…the 4th lobby I’ve joined its doing the whole “Ghosting” act again.

Hmmmm.

Somehow on some but not others. Bizarre

Maybe they’re testing it out on certain tracks?

It’s not “primarily” used by those who don’t like racing…

I hate racing and everyone who does!

I go to meetups because they’re the closest thing to a track day… or a normal day at the Nurb.

I always hope to meet people who share my love of driving fast and clean, without that primal instinct to always win… like in the days of the first FM.

But all I find are trolls, guys who are really bad at racing and come to demonstrate their power in F1, LMP, or AM AMR 22…
on a track day…
in short, cheap showmen…

Then, by some miracle, I come across one or two drivers who drive well, and for fun…

Racing cars should have separate lounges, and collisions should work like fh.

And I curse, sir, 10th generation, all those who vote for fog or rain…

I don’t know a single circuit operator or trackday enthusiast who says to themselves the day before a session: oh, I hope the weather is going to be disgusting!

That’s a perv’ thing…

Shame it’s needed at all. Watching ghosted cars go by is a bit pap.

Be better if I were ghosted to them but they weren’t to me - at least visually.

Unless they’re testing a new improved, polite AI in here, everyone is behaving as you would hope and dare I say expect a normal human being to behave.

Indeed, it’s a miracle!

I just joined a “Nurb fog” session…
and no collisions when I let myself be overtaken by an F1 car (I was driving at ~20km/h, off the ideal trajectory but on the track)
and a ghost pass off the track.

A crazy driver tried to take me out in the last chicane… he was transparent! That’s nice.

However, when I stopped just after the pit exit in a run-off along the barriers, with little difference in speed, the one behind me hit me.

It seems pretty well done… but pervs will always find a way to break the €#@*$…

the fh system works perfectly well: no collisions except for those in your group.

They really need to let there be collisions when chilling off track. The auto ghosting sucks cuz you can’t even check out people’s cars.

They need to come up with a ghosting that has the cars remaining fully visible. And just make it a toggle in settings already.

So many problems in video games would get solved if they just prioritized giving players more choice, control and customization instead of trying to get everything to work perfectly one way for everybody automatically.

I do however give T10 props for quickly addressing the issue, even though there’s still room for improvement

Have they changed them now then to ghost

I saw somebody crashing into the guard rails and he has been ghosted right in front of my eyes. So no you are not going crazy or something. That was in the Fujimi Kaido Drift Meetup.

Ive no clue, It just seems inconsistent, possibly a bug? There’s lobbies where it happens, and lobbies where it doesnt.

Maybe they “rollout” these changes to newer sessions only and it takes a while until all are affected by the changes.

Yeah you could be right there. I think they should lower the percentage for track votes. 50% seems too much most don’t vote at all
