I don’t really do multiplayer because I can’t deal with the garbage drivers out there. But I do like to do the track day meet up in Forza Motorsport 7, see what other cars people are driving, check their times and then I try to tune the same car or class to match that and beat it. It’s a fun thing to do: sometimes they’ll recognize you’re doing that and then you end up in a little battle with a couple people running the same car posting times. Basically competitive hot lapping. I hope they add this feature to the new game. It’s still stays pretty active on FM7, so people must like it.
Magic eight ball says “cannot predict now”
I like that! I’ll have to remember it.
Nice!
Thanks for the details. At least there’s some form of meet up. Hopefully there’s a complete open option like we have now where you can drive around and compete with whomever’s on track. It’s fun to see the different classes of cars even if occasionally you do get some jerk in a Formula 1 car crashing you out. We’ll just have to hope those people choke on their breakfast before the release date.
Would be nice to have public open trackdays / meetups like in FM7. They are really fun and usuary everyone is respectful, I can spent full afternoons in these sessions.
Reporting that there is a track day meetup option under private multiplayer. You can also set all kinds of rules for it so you can eliminate ridiculous fast cars if you just want ‘C’ class for instance.
Super happy about this, as it’s not just a catch-all track day meetup, but it has options you can set. This is a significant improvement over what we had before which was a free-for-all, although it was pretty fun anyway.
Okay so after testing this setup there is one significant problem If you start a private multiplayer meetup. It won’t let you actually on track until you have a second driver join you, so you have to invite a friend. In other words it won’t launch with you by yourself. This is a little broken in design in my opinion. It should let me on the track by myself. But I guess it is called private multiplayer.
So there’s no open multiplayer track day meetup like we had before. We’re back to this being a bummer. And a feature missing from previous games.
Gutted that open track days are not in the game as they were always popular and it is where I met most of my Forza friends.
Not surprised to see something popular removed though as they do this with each release of the game.
What happened to open Track Day in multiplayer?
Yeah it’s been removed. And it was the only thing in Forza 7 I’d used over the last few years. I’d be in the mood to drive, fire it up, grab a car of choice and run around with some randoms. It was good times. Hopefully they’ll add it back in, we need to keep asking for it.
Always count on turn 10 to remove good stuff and add crap.
I hope we’ll have a 24/7 Nordschleife Meetup once they add it to the game.
This is something I would be patient for… They just launched the 1.0 update to enforce safety ratings and fixed the matchmaking. I’d give them another year or so before the other multiplayer lobbies start launching, because right now the focus is on scheduled race events, much like they are on iRacing.
By year he means decade and by decade he means basically never.
Dang moose is your breakfast cereal called grumpy negative crunchies. Granted they’re all over the place and have a lot of work to do. But constantly going to every post in the forum iad hammering them does not help anything. I understand you’re frustrated I am too. But we’re not going to get anywhere with constant harassment of the devs.
A bunch of fellow racers still hoping that we get track day meet up like we’ve had in previous versions so we can just grab a car, run laps and compare times while we chat. Seems like a simple add to the game. But at this point I’m guessing it’s all hands on deck to fix the problems. Has anyone heard if this feature is in the works?
We have not made any announcement to date. Please be sure to use your existing topics instead of creating duplicates and vote on topics in the Suggestions Hub for features that are currently not present in Forza Motorsport, for example:
So if you want to see a track day added to the game ba sure and head for these suggestion linkks and vote them up. This is as good as it gets so run with it people.
Bro it’s like we’re talking to a brick wall they here and see us they just don’t care at this point this has been a issue since launch why would they take it out people are still playing 7 just for open track day🙄
Because the entire game of Horizon is open meet up. The whole game. All of it.
It’s called track day meetup not open meet up. They are not remotely the same. You’re completely missing the point. Probably somebody that never did track day meetup, doesn’t care and just thought they would spout off garbage.
Track Day meetup is an open track where you can come and go as you please, racing cars that you want comparing times and having fun. There’s nothing in Horizon like that. There are individual races, most of them are not on tracks. You cannot come and go as you please. You cannot change cars middle of the event. So no, they’re not at all alike.
Previous versions have had this feature, it is the only thing still alive really in Forza Motorsport 7, which is a sign people still like it. There have been requests for it on here and in various forums. It would be a simple to add feature that they are likely avoiding to force people into they’re absolute garbage multiplayer. If people could just go have fun with friends and randoms they wouldn’t have to suffer with the debacle that multiplayer is. So I’m sure it’s a design choice. And like so many things in this game, it’s driven away many of us that have played since the FM1.
