So Im looking for something in A Class that is quick, good handling and fun to drive. Obviously I want to stay away from the XBow, F50/40 and the Dodge Viper as they are Leaderboard cars.
Has any one got a little gem they can recommend trying? I like the Maserati MC12, Lotus 2-Eleven, but I already have those and a ton of others and want something NEW.
ZR-1 Corvette is good. It has a lot of flexibility in its builds. You can build and tune it for long, medium and short tracks. If your good with your throttle you can handle the rear power. I run it often and have no problem beating average racers in leaderboard cars. Also the Shelby Cobra 427 does well on small/medium tracks. I’ve heard good thing about the Daytona, but have no personal experience with it.
360 CS Tune by PTG Claret is a little bit better IMO. It seems to fit me better. Search Description PTG and you’ll find it. It’s one of their community tunes.
If you have alot of balls, you can try to tune and drive a Caterham R500 without forzakit around it, such a badass little car. Personally my favorites in my garage that’s quick are: EVO8, MC12, CLK GTR, ZR1, Caddy coupe, Mustang GT500, Ferrari F12, 599GTO, 430s etc
If you are wanting to be online, racing in hoppers against all the idiots who smash their way to bronze or silver, I’d recommend an AWD car. Anything B class will upgrade well and should provide flexibility tuning. I like the Audi’s for this. You sacrifice a little handling for the stability but I think it more then makes up for it the first time you watch someone slam into your rear quarter panel and go flying into the ditch, and your car just kinda bumps a little. LOL
If you were racing S class I’d say run the Aventador for hopper lobbies. That car is an Italian tank.
I smoke people in A class with that car. Its handling isn’t as high as the Challenge Stradale, but if you can tune a car you can get it to hold the road quite nicely. It accelerates like a jet fighter.
The Daytona Coupe has the capability to be a 250+ MPH Mulsanne straight monster in A class and has the flexibility to have an actual handling build put on it and be decent too.
Try the '84 Ferarri GTO. I have a no aero tune that just flies. Love that car! And the CSR500 is amazing with no aero as well. Tough to tune, tough to control sometimes, but damn, with some cajonés, and skill, it’s so good when you get it right!
I can vouch for the ZR1 as well, a friend of mine has some pretty awesome tunes for a variety of tracks with that one. Shame he doesn’t share them, though. Others I could recommend:
BMW M1: a fantastic A class for Catalunya. Look up a tune by xMontechristox just named ‘Forza’ …Don’t know how the car performs on other tracks but seeing how well it does on Catalunya, should work out just fine on many of the other “all-around” tracks.
Also, not sure if the '98 Supra is considered a LB car on any track, but a tune by Raceboy77 (labelled a700 best) really surprised me with just how fast it was around Yas Marina, despite feeling like it’s tuned for bigger or more all-around tracks. Give that car/tune a shot, for sure.
Glad to see what’s been posted here about the Challenge Stradale and Daytona Coupe, I’ll have to give those a try too!
I have an AWD Alfa GTA shared id you would like to try it. It was tuned for GSW KnuckHead’s AWD tuning comp, and i have found it to be very handy in the lobbies.
its acceleration makes up for the lack of top-end, but the handling is pretty good too.
ill be sure to try the M1 by xMontechristox. Thanks for pointing me in that direction R6 Nighthawk - i love that car bit haven’t gotten round to trying it on FM5 yet.
