Good car to make an A class with speed and handling?

Hey, I’m looking for a car to put in A class for Road trip but i can’t seem to find the right car, please help?

Subaru WRX 2005
Subaru WRX 2011
Alfa Romeo 4C
Toyota GT86

Both skylines are good all rounders.

Lambo Countach
Nissan R32/R34
Toyota GT86
Any Subaru

Subaru Legacy

Alfa 33 Stradale
Maserati Gran Turismo
Subaru 05

I second this and would reccomend Sp01lted Jam1es tune on it great speed and stability though a bit weighty being a RS5

The Mercedes A45 has worked very well for me. It is very stable, has good acceleration, launch and brakes and it’s very good off-road.

I think I use the RS4 and it works well for me, at the same time my Charger works well also…it’s more or less impossible to give you a hint as your driving style most likely isn’t like mine so a car I do well in may have you coming in last and vice versa…

I’d say that in general you should look for something all-wheel drive and not go berzerk in putting maximum horsepower into it, look at tyres, handling, lightness and gearing and then when you’re used to the car you may go back and remove a bit of handling and add a bit more HP for instance. (personally I always leave the engine 'til last and spend what PI I have left on it)

Another thing I always do is leave the drive shaft untouched 'til I’ve reached the maximum PI for the class and then go and change it, you can usually go one or two steps on the drive shaft and still stay within the PI limit. (for that last extra bit of tweaking)

You might also want to go into tuning and change the gearing a little, most cars are geared a bit too high (low gearing ratio) which means you’ll get a bit slower acc. and top speed due to the engine not being able to reach the top speed. (so it’s a win/win to make the gearing a tad higher, it won’t make a big difference but every little bit helps, look at the specs on the side - inside the tuning window - it’ll tell you the estimated top speed and acc.)

Theres many cars you can use, its best to use trial and error, I use the aerodrome stretch and the speed trap gives me an idea of the acceleration. Then do a couple of races in SP to give you an idea of the hendlng, then adjust accordingly

I have an A class Chevy Impala untuned which ive won alot of races with, even won a CC race with opponents in Evos/Subarus

Nice, those big American V8 battleships (like your Impy) can be devastating offroad, in the right hands.

Very true. I have kept suspension at the lowest and because its fairly long and wide its more stable than I thought offroad; whether I was lucky to win that because of the skill of the opponents regardless it felt good :p, takes a while to get off the line but once you get going it’s a beast

Audi R8 V10 > all in A class

Thats S1 class stock.

I have no issues with S2 class. It seems to me that I’ve learned to be really good at building and tuning 1100HP monsters. The problems I am having lie more in A Class and S1 Class. I have multiple cars built the past three days with what I want to say is limited, measured success. None of which makes me all that happy.

For A Class, I have taken some advice from this thread, combined with my own ideas. I currently have tuned and readied; Challenger 392 (haven’t raced with it yet), RS4, Mercedes A45 Wagon, Mid 90s 350Z Twin Turbo. I am thinking of adding the Charger just to see, and maybe the C4 Corvette too.

For S Class, I have two that I rely on. The Countach I think I have locked and loaded, however haven’t been in a S1 Road Trip Online to tell. The other is the Mazda RX-7. The speed rating is 9.5 on it, with weight reduction, tires added, AWD, etc. I just feel like it’s too squirrely still, even after I have the suspension tweaked to the gills to grip the road.

For S1 class the car I use and have had a lot of success with is the BMW 1M 2011. It is super planted to the road and has a good level of stability and acceleration.

The Dino

1999 Lancer Evolution GSR

It´s a Allrounder

I use an awesome Alfa 33 Stradale, a tuxedo black (cuz its just better that way) Corvette Stingray 427, and an 05 Subaru Impreza WRX STI with the rally upgrades.

But really anything can work in the right hands. The Stock Bowler Nemesis that everyone who can’t choose a car in time ends up in is really not bad and it’s barely in A class.

I also have an Escalade that does really well in tag games and is OK at the rest of the races but I wouldn’t call it stellar.

I have lots of great A class cars and find it to be one of the easiest classes to build a really competitive car. Some of my favorites are the 67 Stingray, 69 Camaro, Lotus Espirit, Alfa 33 Stradale, Alfa Romeo Guila, Bentley, and last but not least Subaru Impressa WRX 2005.

I am having trouble getting a B class I really like. A, S1, S2, C and D I have covered with stuff I really like but I have been experimenting with a lot of B class and haven’t found one I really like yet. The faster ones handle poorly and the good handlers are too sloooooow. Best so far is my Olds 442. I like really good acceleration and handling and I can’t seem to find that peppy start I am looking for. The Baracuda is very fast for a B but handles so bad. I have won some sprints in it but if it has to deal with lots of turns it is a nightmare.
