McLaren F1 for speed tracks, and MP4-12C for more handling circuits - these two have served me extremely well and you rarely see anyone else bring them out in lobbies. Also the Lambo LP570 is pretty good on more technical layouts, RWD swap.

Try a VW r32, it’s pretty good, I have one with just a little tune and it’s fun to drive and has better handling then 5.1
Ditto the McLarens and the Lamborghini. If you want some variety, try the Gallardo with RWD, you lose launch but get a lot of PI back that you can use to upgrade the tires to make up for it. You can also run the new Mercedes CLK GTR in A class by taking the rear aero off . It’s a bit of a handful without the downforce, but still a lot of fun.
Merc SLS is good.
I also like the SLR, C63 and SL 65. Mercs aren’t too good at low speed corners but it is rewarding to get a win with one in the lobby. German muscle at its finest
The 190E is probably good too, although I haven’t used it.
Lotus 2 Eleven
As I prefer handling and acceleration to top speed it is my all time favorite A class car. So much fun to drive, can score podiums against max AI and log top 1% times with a generic ‘all tracks’ build and tune that works everywhere but old mulsanne.
