I hate modified cars

I don’t like modified cars, I like comparing original factory cars, i wanted to race against original factory cars in rivals and online multiplayer. It completely breaks the immersion to modify the car, there are so many things that break my immersion in this game that I simply can’t play it, Assetto Corsa is my home. But Assetto doesn’t have good graphics, it doesn’t have 4K HDR10, that’s why I need Forza to change some things, I wanted extremely sensitive and fast control, I like giving smooth and precise commands, and for that I need The steering is fast and extremely sensitive, there should be an option to modify the speed and sensitivity of the steering. I also wanted to modify the position of the camera in the car’s cockpit. I also wanted to be able to configure the steering wheel rotation, I wanted each car to have a different steering wheel rotation, but for it to be at least 360°.

By the end of that rant you’re asking for modifications.

Road cars are almost always setup from the factory with understeer, which does not provide the quick steering you want. Wheel rotation is also always more than 360 degrees because road cars have to be able to make u turns.

AC2 is coming this year so you don’t have to wait much longer. I’ve gotten too old for the fantasy buffs that modding provides. RWD performance cars do oversteer at the limit with no assists. This “road cars are setup to understeer” theme doesn’t apply to all road cars. I’ve seen people have to make corrections in road cars plenty of times.

The Carrera GT is a good example of a wild child that’s been dialed down by these physics, the Mclaren F1 is another one. Any rear wheel drive sports car will get wild if you’re not careful driving at the absolute limit as evidenced:

Lap starts at 4:19 (how do you time stamp on iPhone? I tried ?t=xxx seconds but it didn’t work)

Gotta love the “quote” that excludes the qualifier I included as a means of arguing against.

Most road cars are, in fact, setup to understeer. The inclusion of that qualifier is because there are high performance vehicles that, from factory, are designed for track use also.

Well that’s a good chunk of this car roster. Sports cars, super cars, and hypercars all come with a summer track tire option. Everything from a new Civic Si to whatever performance car you want but don’t need comes with them. Engineers understand want vs need when designing these cars.

I enjoy keeping most cars stock too, and comparing them that way. I’d love rivals and races to specify if we’re doing stock racing, or modified. Just like I’d love stats for each car on each track and to select any car we’ve driven on any track to race the ghost of.

Until I married my current wife, never owned a car I didn’t modify in so form. With my last two Jeeps she won’t let me touch them. She says that’s what my games are for. Racing was too expensive. And I agree with her, it’s a dangerous money trap. Games are bad enough as you PC guys can attest to with your thousands in computer and wheel setups.

Hey if you hate modifed cars fine, don’t modify your cars. Just play your unmodified cars and leave the rest of the game to those of us who want to modify our cars.

If Assetto is your home, then go change them. We’re having enough trouble trying to get Forza fixed for those of us who want to modify car.

I hate stock cars in Forza it’s like watching paint dry driving them :joy:

I painted cars professionally. I loved watching paint dry. In fact with lacquer, you had to watch it dry or you’d lose that prime time to work the paint.

None of that negates the fact that most road cars are setup from the factory to understeer.

Most not all. All of the cars in this game are performance cars, not your average street car that you see everyday bar a few cars. We all know how cars and coffee with 5.0 coyotes can end, and the Miata isn’t one of the best sports cars ever made because it’s “set up to understeer”.

Performance road cars come with assists that can be turned off. What’s the purpose if they can just dial in loads of understeer and make every performance car “safe to drive”? This game is way too unrealistically safe.

I’m just saying it would be nice if stock cars weren’t so boring to drive. It would make CarPG a lot less monotonous, and if you upgrade your car piece by piece you could feel what does what.

To be honest OP, if you’re going to track a car IRL you’re going to HAVE to make modifications if you want to use it for more than a few laps for one day.

Or to even get on the track at all. Many tracks require some form of roll bar or cage for safety. Some go further and require brakes to be upgraded.

Yeah, buddy, most. That’s what I said from the drop. As for “all cars in this game are performance cars”, absolutely not.

And I said this “doesn’t apply to all” road cars from the drop. Every car isn’t a performance car on the list, but 95% of them are and I’m being conservative. Of that 95%, majority of the rwd cars will step out with no assists.

Less than 95% of the cars in game have assists IRL. Do you honestly believe what you’re saying?

You’re straying from the point. The understeer in this game is unrealistic on stock cars. Cars which are performance oriented.
