I’ve bought forza horizon 3 digitally and ever since the start of forzathon (the one with the s14),my game has been acting up.
It’s extremely slow on loading screens and in the garage.
Along with the slowness, whenever I try to reboot the game, I always get the message that it takes too long to load on my Xbox. All my other games (digitally downloaded) work fine but horizon 3
I’ve already uninstalled and downloaded the game again but, I see no difference. If anyone’s has the same problem and knows the solution please help me.
(Edit): Now my horizon won’t even start at all. No matter how many times I quit the game and launch again, I keep getting the message saying that the game is taking to long to load and to try again.
Well there goes my $60.
Have you tried hard resetting your console properly yet
including pulling the power cable from the wall until the light on the power supply goes completely off
I’ve contacted Xbox support and they told me to do that. It didn’t work. I even went to the point where I had to rest the console and delete everything. My horizon is still extremely slow.
How much space do you still have left on your Xbone? A common issue most people dont know is that the fuller your HD, the slower its going to run due to all that data.
Another option would to simply uninstall and reinstall the game since it might be bugged. At least the save goes to the cloud so you dont have to worry about losing progress.
Before I rest my console and deleted everything, I had about 200 GB left out of my 1TB. I’ve done everything already and I have no idea to why it’s extremely slow
i’d be very surprised if your hard drive space was anything to do with this. i’d be inclined to delete the game (not the save) and reinstall. It’s a huge pain being digital tho !! If you have a friend that has a hard copy perhaps you could use that to install game data. The system will then allow you to play the game without the disc as you have already bought the rights by buying digital.
Maybe your console is overheating. Horizon is a very demanding game and your xbox will run slowly if overheating. Things such as smoke or excess dust will cause the cooler to be covered in fine particles which over time build up into a carpet of fur. At that point it will run slowly to stop itself getting damaged. But only to a certain point.
I have one of those compressed gas duster cans to clear the dust out of my Xbox. And I hardly play my Xbox. I’d usually play on weekends for atleast 2-3 hours. Rarely I’d play on weekdays, only if I’ve finished my schoolwork. One factor my be that my Xbox is on the instant on setting. All of my other games work completely fine, now that I’ve reset my console, except Horizon 3. For some reason I’m also getting some weird bug whenever I quit the game. Whenever I try to restart it I’ll get the error saying that the game took too long to load. It isn’t only for Horizon , but for all my games. So that would make me have to hard reset my console
Delete your Game Save Data. Your Save Data is continuously synced with the Cloud, so deleting it and then downloading it may fix the problem. It has worked for me on previous games.
If you use Instant On, make sure that when you’re finished playing the game, that you Quit the application and not just hit the Power Down button. If you do that, the game will run continuously even when its in low-power mode.
Remove games you don’t play from your Drive. Less free space means your games will take longer to load. Not only that but Microsoft doesn’t tell you: 25% of your drive should be cleared and be nothing but free space (For Windows). It’s safe to assume this is the case with Xbox considering it uses a cut of Windows 10 kernel and a games OS with a hypervisor.
I pre-ordered the vanilla game a couple of days before release. I crossed my fingers and hoped that maybe, just maybe, Forza would finish downloading before the launch date. While other game publishers push data through fire hoses, Turn 10 seems happy with a bucket brigade.
If I were you, I’d use a wired connection for Turn 10 apps.
If that doesn’t work, I’d take my Xbox to a friend’s house and try downloading it there.
I have had this exact same problem, I contacted Xbox support and they made me go through a step by step process but it didn’t work. I have tried almost everything, hard reset, deleting games to free up space, buying an external hard drive and transferring the game onto that, buying a new Xbox one s and re-installing it on there. Yet the problem still continues, when I try to go to ‘my cars’ or the auction, it takes atleast 10 minutes to load up then once it does my cars don’t load up properly. Now it can’t possibly be a problem with my Xbox because I have purchased a brand new one and the problem still keeps happening. I bought the ultimate edition to get all the extras… looks like it was a complete waste of money because the game is almost unplayable! I had to wait 30 minutes for ‘my cars’ to load up yesterday. It’s a complete joke.
I finally fixed it! All I had to do was start up the game in offline mode, then go online once the game was fully loaded in. After that I did a hard reset and now my game works perfectly fine.
