I just put 4 hours into online adventure, won an HE Supra and escort, and then it decides to freeze and throw everything I won into the drain.
This happens frequently on FH3 only- i’m not having any problems with 2 or 1.

Yes, and that can’t be the case because it’s cold every time after.
Of course I am, I’m not stupid. The game seems to save itself at a very infrequent pace.

Sucks that the game crashed for you… sorry to hear that.
For me, one of the best things about playing this game on the console is that I don’t have to worry about crashes. The game and the Xbox automatically update so I’m always running the latest versions of all software. Horizon 3 crashed once for me in several hundred hours of game time, it was an isolated event back in December iirc, and has never happened again. Going back through other Forzas, I think I’ve experienced fewer than 10 crashes over all Forza games, Motorsport and Horizon. I’m ok with that.
If your console is crashing often It could be unrelated to Horizon 3. I would try playing something else and seeing if the crashes are as frequent… might be a problem with your Xbox.

I think the problem is this: most folks simply leave their console on Standby or do not do a full shutdown (no power going at all to the brick after turning off the console). Fully draining the brick and waiting for the light to go from white to amber before powering up the console ensures it performs optimally every time.
For me, Over 95% of the time the game runs fine except for the occasional free roam stutter which happens more around specific festival sites.

Must be something related specifically to your XBox. I’ve played FH3 nearly every day since release for hundreds and hundreds of hours and have never crashed once.

Sometimes online after picking a car it crashes for me too, other times it refuses to start but I turn the xbox fully off and try it and then its fine

My console crashes after a few hours if i enter byron bay festival, other sites dont crash it. If i keep clear of byron bay it rarely freezes.
There must be a lot of faulty XBones out there. My One keeps on freezing, too. I lost several cars, millions of credits and xp due to the crashes. That happens unfrequently, sometimes not once in a day and then twice in 10 mins. Only in FH3. And no, my One doesn’t use standby mode.
That’s annoying.
So no fault in the console is there? My copy runs fine though but I don’t play it all that often.
my xbox crashes sometimes when i download a livery or when auction a car, i do a power cycle everyday. fh3 is the only game i have crashing issues also my console and power brick are ventilated

This used to happen to me a lot as well. I would be playing and all of a sudden it makes a very loud and annoying noise and the app just quits. It hasn’t happened lately so maybe they fixed it.

I am going to post this link again because there are proper ways to use the Xbox One and the games on them:
I ALWAYS after any Content Update, DLC or system update, do a FULL HARD RESTART of the console, for instance. I don’t have crashes, lost items and have not lost any credits.

The same happens to me. It normally happens if I play a while, then play in online, leave online and the instant I try to go into a festival site…it freezes and crashes the game.
Happens at least once day for me on vanilla Xbox (not an S). Power cycling did nothing to help. Usually on a load screen, but had it happen in the middle of online race too.
I play off an SSD connected via USB for faster load times.
I have occasional crashes. Thought it was my disc but that’s spotless. I usually get a crash after a few hours of offline play.
