I didn't know this was devs vs players

So i think i know what’s happening now. The devs are sitting around trying to break each others scores. Once they have the best score, then the players must complete that challenge during forzathon weekly. If they wanted to add absurd badges or something like that, that’s fine. But don’t keep ramping up the difficulty until everyone quits. Like how many of you guys are getting tired of this? They also seem to be changing the coding. Because now when i hit a small jump, i loose a ton of speed.

I got a series s just so i could play this Game. So is there another game similar to this, that isn’t a competitive game. Like i just want to chill and drive cars around. That’s what this game Was supposed to be.

Nothing stopping you from just chilling and driving cars around. This may come as a shock, but you don’t actually have to complete every weekly challenge - or ANY weekly challenge, for that matter. This isn’t, in fact, a competitive game.

I think the closest thing to this sort of game currently (other than previous entries) might be The Crew 2. It does some things better and some worse - both in regards to this series and its own predecessor. (EDIT: Though I should point out that its version of seasonal chores is, in fact, just about directly competitive.)

The point is, that i don’t want them to keep ramping up the difficulty.

Meanwhile, the masochists complain that it’s too easy. Personally, I think these things should scale to each player based on chosen difficulty settings - about the closest I think they could come to pleasing everybody on the issue.

We just want Dark Souls with cars :skull_and_crossbones:

Nah, Dark Souls is pasted too slowly, how about Sekiro with cars? :upside_down_face:

What’s been challenging about the Forzathon Weekly? I can’t think of anything that’s been the least bit difficult there. It’s almost all ‘earn a wreckage skill’, ‘win a race’, etc kind of stuff.

If you “just want to chill and drive cars around”, then do it.

@HomusOnline What is not challengeing for your or me, might be challenging for someone else. Not everyone has the same experience, skillset, or aptitude for this game. I am always able to complete the playlist. But, I am also experienced enough to recognize that the diffuclty of some of the more recent PR stunts has definitely increased in the recent months, compared to earlier seasons.

T10 has to balance the challenge amongst a large playerbase with a wide range of ability. There is a balance here, and it seems evident that have been recently shifting the PR stunts difficulty slider to the right. And that is causing frustration for some players who are accustomed to earlier challenge level. I’m empathetic to this, even if it isn’t a problem for myself.

I have done all challenging ones already. This week there really isn’t anything too difficult if you know what to do. For most PR stunts I used Jesko with DUBS’ offroad tune. Speed trap: just come from south and cut cross country from nearest road. For trailblazer I used Hoonigan RS200 with DJS’ stunt tune and while it might not bw best tune for it, it gets job done. For drift zone I used #357 FD Corvette with Kenpai’s tune. With automatic and trying to keep transitions at minimum I casually hit target score way before end of zone. Only “difficult” part of forzathon weekly was 4 dirt races.

Indeed. Which “Zero Second” event lab to use ?

But seriously, yes, they can all be done with the right car, tune, and approach. That’s not really the issue though. It’s the mindless chore nature of the offerings. And PG seeming to think the only way to make something better and more fun is to make them with a higher target score (PR Stunts) or give the AI more cheats.

What happened to making them actually fun and challenging in a real sense ? What happened to the approach of matching PR stunts to specific vehicles with a reasonable challenge score ? (not this anything goes S2 998 garbage forcing max tunes and stupid cross country blasting through terrain idiocy). What happened to ACTUAL Stock racing challenges (not the garbage of forcing players to stock vs AI secret cheat tunes it turned into when even their usual cheat tunes weren’t enough).

I got a laugh from the OP idea that any of the devs actually plays the game, let alone that they all compete for best scores weekly to set the target challenges. Never.

The game is just a sad empty chore list for many of us now. I don’t even bother completing it. Just enough for the “required” “exclusive” cars because I’m addicted to this current manifestation of my ocd and collecting habit. And even that is nearing a breaking point where I simply won’t give a… but this is getting long and ranty so.

To end on a positive (?) note, a friend who hasn’t been playing in months is back into it again, because… “reasons”… so I may even gold this season (first in ages, not because I couldn’t but because I couldn’t be bothered)… maybe even the series possibly (if said friend maintains interest), helping them get some stuff done. Mostly it’s just a way to chat and reconnect with them. I’m on autopilot in the game and they’re having fun (reportedly so anyway). So, it’s good, I guess.

We’re not talking about PR stunts, though, the OP was complaining about Forzathon Weekly. IE, this week it’s done in the Audi S1. The most difficult part about them is getting it to recognize that you’re in the correct car.

It’s not just the chore list that’s empty; so is the map…of players. What is really sad is the fact that this has always been a very social game in terms of online players interacting all over the map. Here it is Friday night & there are literally only 1-2 other online players listed every time I’ve checked.

I feel like this is turning into a version of Fallout…

It all makes sense now. :scream:

When he said “forzathon weekly” I took it from context (devs breaking each others’ scores until they have the best score, etc.) to be referring to the PR stunts. It’s easy to deduce that the OP probably meant that ‘the players must complete that challenge during Forzathon on a weekly basis.’

The problem with today’s increasingly difficult PR stunts is that it is easy for skilled players to increase the difficulty on their own, but impossible for less-skilled players to decrease the difficulty.

For example, in the current class-based PR stunt, a player who needs a more difficult challenge can easily get a “more challenging” challenge by using a lower PI car within that class.
However, being class-based makes it virtually impossible for a player with insufficient skills to lower the difficulty level, since an X-class car cannot be used for an S2-class PR stunt.

An idea that has been proposed for months in this forum alone, or even years if you include the FH4 era, but the best idea would be to have several difficulty levels for the season PR stunts and vary the rewards accordingly.
And it would be preferable if it were only a slight change in reward, such as getting more superwheel spins, rather than additional points, and one that does not cut off players who lack skills.

Doesn’t need that much skills to finish pr stunts really. Everything else in the playlist is way too easy.

The danger sign is easy with the Rimac but it’s doable with other cars like Ultima 1020 etc.
The speed zone needs you to accelerate from highway and while it’s doable with multiple cars, the CLK (SepiSP4 tune) is the most stable to do it.
The trailblazer can be an issue and i had to retry some times too, but if you go from bridge it’s ok.

The challenge with the Audi S1 is very easy and i can’t take seriously someone who cannot finish it. You can do the dirt races at any difficulty you want solo.

I don’t know how old you are but I highly recommend you stop assuming that your specific skill level in Forza has any bearing on anything whatsoever to anybody but yourself.

Any adult conversation about an optimal playlist designed for millions of players would include mechanisms for those players to adjust difficulty and reward balance per event as they see fit. Even the rudimentary three star system PGG uses in stories would be better than the nothing we have now.

On the plus side, making PR stunts harder allowed PGG to throw the “make it harder” crowd a bone with little to no effort while not frustrating less experienced players too much, with just a 2 point loss for ignoring the event.

I’ve accepted more people want FH5 to be easier than more difficult. At least for the meantime. My itch for a challenge is now being scratched on the Crew 2’s summit. There I am more of a drift clown than drift king  I’ve had so much fun being absolutely rubbish and failing miserably haha Makes it so worth it when you start getting okay to decent runs.

Everyone wants a different experience, but I realise in FH more people than not seem to want to be one and done. For me the moneys worth is the emotion and journey of getting it more than the gold tick itself. But that’s me.

The majority of players have finished the pr stunts without that many issues as generally is not that difficult and doesn’t need you to be some kind of god to do them really.

I have played a lot of games and many of them had more difficult challenges/tasks that weren’t possible to make it easier and in some games you could not progress without finishing some more difficult challenges. They don’t have to make everything ridiculously easy only to please some players who don’t want to put any effort in it. Meanwhile you can rewind as many times as you want until you make it right and it’s anyway optional and the reward rather useless so it’s not so important to finish them.

And anyway if someone is bad on something just don’t do it. As you can see they don’t lock exclusive rewards or cars behind such challenges and they don’t make them important in terms of how many points they give to avoid ruining the game for less skilled players or people who don’t want to do them. However if you want to 100% playlist all the time then yes you have to be somewhat good as a player.

I think the playlist should be absolutely flush with activities to do. If you just want to race, you should be able to get both cars by just racing. If this were the case, they could also scale difficulty. So if you wanted to do only easy stuff, you could do only easy stuff, but stunts, races, and every other activity scales up in challenge as you work through them on the playlist.
