It’s considered cheating now, but it wasn’t before.
Rules have changed so now it would be considered cheating yes, but it wasnt against the rules then so wasnt cheating… its very simple to understand
Technically the rules are the same, but it’s physically impossible to take that line now as there’s a concrete wall in the way
I drove it last night, it’s interesting now as your approach differs depending on whether you are on the short or full layout. On the short you want to late-apex and be as far left as possible on exit because the turn-in for Turn 2 comes up almost immediately.
In the race I did nobody smashed into the wall either, seems people adapted to the new optimal line pretty quickly.
Very good, but can anyone explain why they also wiped out rivals’ lap times on the two Le Mans tracks?
I don’t have it in front of me, but I think I remember reading something in the patch notes saying that they had made some changes to the layouts which apparently they felt were significant enough to warrant a leaderboard wipe.
Yes thank you, that’s what I deduced too.
Another curiosity, all categories are affected by the reset of leaderboards except class E… without much additional reason?
I saw a couple folks scraping it in lobbies, then overcorrecting & swerving dangerously back into traffic.
I think they should have put some kind of high-vis marker(s) on it because its color blends into the track surface color, making it a bit difficult to see it & judge the approach appropriately.
How about some Mobil 1 signage?
Puzzling why E class leaderboards weren’t wiped as well. Hopefully just an error on their part that will get fixed.
Still awaiting class and overall leaderboards, but thats been missing since the early FM days.
That’s coming in Update 3048
Maybe if you go fast enough, you can phase through like it’s a Sonic speedrun. And if you manage that, I think you deserve to keep your time.
Well not really… I mean you use everything possible but that has its limits.
I wonder if legit times set with the new wall in place will stay after the wipe.
Is it worth running Mid-Ohio in E class at the moment if its just going to reset it completely again.
@T10ManteoMax or any other T10 Dev that might see this. Will the new legit times stay or be wiped as well?
A targeted leaderboard wipe like that should be easy enough to do, I’d imagine, if T10 were to just delete any time set before the date/ time of the update, which surely is data they must have access to, even though we the players do not. I’m guessing they’ll probably take the nuclear option, however, and wipe it completely (that’s if they do anything about it at all).
FWIW, I miss not seeing the date each Rivals time was set. Was nice to have an idea of who was active and when. One more thing to add to the list of disappointments…
