Just seen someone cutting the first corner of Mid Ohio in Rivals, so I’m sure there is alot of that going on in the boards here. I’m assuming it has something to do with the pit exit being there as well. Tested it and the entire pit exit is considered clean.
Mid-Ohio - Player is not penalized and can exploit pit lane exit lane to improve lap times (1634997)
Turn 1 can be shortcutted significantly, all you have to do is use the pit-lane.
Now, how to fix it?
Easy, LITERALLY just an if statement.
If not pitting: Penaulty.
If pitting: No penaulty,
And you’ve solved that one.
I mean, you can’t drive onto the pit lane on Laguna Seca, so why would you allow it on Mid-Ohio? Which is why I’m making this post.

I was not understanding how I could be so slow until I saw someone cutting and get away with it.
Fix asap. This could give a 0.5sec advantage over a lap

This is incredible, I saw the other day in a multiplayer race lots of drivers doing is and I could not believe it, it gives an insane advantge on the corner and the straight, please fit it ASAP

I am absolutely in love with this new track to the series.
A great mix of turns and elevation. Never a dull moment.
It’s become my go to test track.
Took many, many laps to perfect the line through turn 1. Though it seems I haven’t been taking the “PRO” line all this time.
What a shame. I hope turn 10 can stamp this out before it just becomes “The” line.

Voted, this really needs to be fixed. If that happened when someone was coming out of the pits it would ruin both drivers race (in real life of course).

simple “hot fix” they said specifically for track limits they would be able to quickly correct.

Yeah Chris did say that. We should see a Hotfix in time for the M3 spec series about to kick off there.
There is hope though that this wont persist for too long.

This one drives me crazy. Had two cars able to close the gap and pass because they exploited turn 1 multiple times. Make the car a ghost, slow it down like any care leaving the pits is and apply the penalty.

yeah i noticed this today and its manipulting the game which im sure is against TOS and punishment is needed for doing this as it ruins racing i know for certain i wont be online on mid ohio its ruined that track for me

This, with the exploit to skip animation in the pits should be top priority on a competitive racing game!!!
It’s a mess. If you turn on track limits you can see it’s over the limits.
But I suspect the pen system sees it as clean as your exiting the pits.
It’s very simplistic view with the pen system if it is that. How hard is it to code cars exiting the pit have pens disabled for 2 seconds. Whilst other cars get a pen cutting into the pit exit…
I’m sure it will get fixed but mannnn how did this get released like this.

At this point I don’t think this will be fixed. It had to be sorted early on. Unfortunately this is now the accepted line on this track.

because the normal pit lane at laguna seca isn’t used at all, even by cars who are exiting the pit lane
