He means quickly maybe in the next or future games.
Australian V8 supercars have an electronic scanner/tracker under the car that pairs with curb trackers. Certain tacks have curb trackers built in that measure cars cutting, 2 warnings 3rd offense gets you a pit lane drive through penalty.
I Despise it Never unless compromised or i brake to avoid doing it you will also never see me cut it in MP or even in Rivals I’m against any form of cheating in Racing Games It makes me very mad & Frustrated that’s why i don’t race online on that track it completely ruins the racing for me cheating is against Xbox’s community standard to because cutting the track is a unfair advantage even with penalties who ever thinks cutting the track limits is ok you need a Reality check! ^^
I feel exactly the same way!
So cheating is real racing.
It’s technically not against the rules though, because if it was the game would give a penalty.
Anything to get the race over with quicker works for me as I’m only racing there when it’s FOMO
But it is “technically” against the rules. Do you think the cut is intentional? Of course it isn’t. It’s an obvious oversight or technical issue on part of the game. If there was a glitch that skipped you ahead by an extra lap w/o penalty, wouldn’t that be exactly the same?
Guy’s I’m sorry. You can justify all you want, but any argument that it isn’t against the rules is such a bad-faith argument that I don’t know what else to say. This is some “letter of the law/spirit of the law” type stuff. Every single one of us knows that it wouldn’t fly in any real race.
How about a hypothetical? Let’s say there is a big Forza tournament like they do those World GT Championships. You know, where they have a bunch of people on stage racing each other. Do you take the cut then? In front of the officials and everyone in the world? Do you argue that the game didn’t punish you, so it obviously is totally legal and legit?
If the sporting regulations of said championship don’t cover the eventuality, yes.
In races where there are additional rules on top of the game rules, I abide by them. @Mesasphere doesn’t allow the cut in his private lobbies for example, or “turbo glitch” builds that were possible to do last year but have since been patched out.
Featured Multiplayer only cares about what the game allows, and currently the game allows that line. It shouldn’t (I want it patched and will vote on any thread that suggests it), but it does. Featured Multiplayer doesn’t have a sporting regulations document on top of the technical regulations set by the game code.
A similar debate regarding track limits comes up in a game I work on, and I tell the players “if the game doesn’t punish you for it, do it”. They accept it and play to the letter of the law with no issue (and said locations aren’t featured in official esports championships until/unless they are patched).
It is the developer’s responsibility to ensure their rules are consistent and address anything that is missed.
Yes.
That’s only leveling the playing field. As long as the game says it’s legal then go for it.
I’ll try to make up the time elsewhere, w/o cutting.
if people say it’s not against the rules then think it’s ok to cut all corners in multiplayer in FM7?
it aint cheating if its not against the rules. They arent penalizing it so its clearly not breaking the rule. If they change the rules so they count it as leaving track limits then it is against the rules and therefore cheating. its very simple.
Think in F1 they arent going to use every single bit of track available down to a cm to get the best results?
I’m fairly certain if the powers that be in F1 made what is clearly an egregious error in the denoting and enforcing of track limits, the error would be fixed by the very next practice session at the latest, and it wouldn’t still be an issue 6 months after it was first pointed out.
thats not the point though. yes turn10 shouldve fixed it long ago but till they do it aint against the rules
To be fair, it is a great tradition in motorsports to interpret the rules as written in the most literal, loophole-y way. That’s how you end up with 6-wheeled F1s, or Group B.
I do use that cut but also i dont always get it. I feel like if i miss my breaking point, im just not making that turn. And im really not that good of a player to be able to take huge advantage of this.
I do think it should be patched out tho.
Better bring the heats to the suggestion hub and pray it gets fixed as soon as possible
Yeah I’m tired of abusing the loophole then people behind me dive-bomb me on the next corner because they think I’m “cheating.”
Can’t bring myself to do it.
Been wiped out a few times because of people to my immediate right wanting to use the exploit and I’m taking the turn correctly.
People that use it gain a few tenths on those that don’t.
People will continue to abuse it until it’s patched out of the game.
In what other context could you take that idea and its somehow not a bad thing? Any time you are, as you admit, ABUSING something, then yeah, others are likely to take exception. That’s not excusing their behavior, but this is one of those “Am I the one who’s so out of touch? No, it’s the other drivers that are wrong.” memes.
See: half the people in this thread
They’ve had several months to fix the loophole. All the top drivers do it, so what’s the issue?
