theres a lot of menus that seem to go no where and getting to a point where i could invite a friend took 5 mins today until one of the boxes changed and literally said “invite friends”. the convoy system is awkward and doesnt give clear messaging. granted, as it turns out, that is because i am at a later stage in single player than my bud, but that isnt detailed on my end, i just get told “so n so cant join, make him convoy leader instead”
i simply want to select a race, have my buddy in the “lobby” with me, select the car, and go. i want to be able to restrict which cars can be used. for example, i want us both to use scooby’s. when i tried it it didnt force him into a scooby. when he tried it he used a premade avent so the car restriction thing wasnt confirmed one way or the other.
how do i 1, pick the cars allowed to race and restrict all racers to them, and 2, how do we create a private free roam session.
2 is less important because we can simply ignore others. 1 is important. i want us to be put in the same car, and race. like we can in forza motorsport. how does one access the restriction system, and then the car “rental” system?
when i used the blueprint, it didnt restrict the cars. i selected scooby’s and the game let my bud drive his ford rs 2000. which is not a scooby. how does one force a car onto the racers and can one set a blueprint for a car they dont own and race, without buying a car to suit?
smashing. ill have a look at that next time cheers.
but, whats the point in all the other options if the only way to enforce it is to pick custom. surely if i pick scooby’s for example on my blueprint, everyone is supposed to drive a scooby no?
sorry bud, a bit of an english-ism there. its slang for a subaru. i had the bluebrint set up for apparently subaru cars, but the other racer turned up in his rs 2000. the picture of the bluebrint even had the scooby, sorry, subabru, on the “poster”.
what happens if he doesnt have a subaru in his garage? should the game let him “borrow” one, which is what i thought the blueprints did. or, if he doesnt have one, can he just drive whatever he wants? if thats the case, half the blueprint system is useless.
I agree 10000% with you the menu system is not user friendly and I’m a forza veteran.
That’s what everyone is complaining about we want to be able to pick a car class and also which surface we can race on.
As it stands you can go into quick play adventure and it will probably be s2 in the snow.
I can’t believe they have done it to us again after the shambles of forza 7 (things are getting better I admit) they have released a game full of things that nobody wanted or asked for ie houses and avatars.
What is the point of the houses when I can do the exact same things from the festival site?
Also ranked adventure doesn’t work I spent hours last night trying to get into a match and it kept saying not enough players when it reached 11.
I would just like acknowledgement from playground that they are aware of the issues and most fans aren’t happy AGAIN.
respectfully as possible, i was asking specific questions. there is a sizeable thread in which people are documenting their grievances. i would ask that only answers to my questions are posted as otherwise this will simply be merged with the other thread and then it wont serve its purpose.
im starting to suspect i have done something wrong in my blueprint but, my question is, for clarity, how do i set up a race, and force the other racers to use the vehicle or manufacturer of my choice. can the other player “rent” a car to allow them to take part or do they get to drive whatever they want?
ill have anpther look when i get chance later per supers suggestion but any further answers are appreciated
I wish the multiplayer was decent in some way. For the last few versions of both Horizon and Motorsport I have tried out the multiplayer and within 10 minutes I’m back to Solo or Co-op only play with my friends…
I know it’s an extreme Challenge for the developers to find something that works and they keep tinkering and trying things. But multiplayer has been garbage for years now and it’s not just these games it’s basically every racing game. The only way to fix this is to have some kind of penalty system or racing license like iRacing does. Granted I realize that’s a heavy simulated game. But if people are constantly crashing and you start limiting who they can drive against, mainly other crashers, then the rest of us that want to enjoy multiplayer can have fun.
On top of that they have all these different multiplayer styles and events but they never seem to be able to hit the mark and everybody seems to have complaints from one angle or another (granted that’s true about most aspects of most games at this point).
I always feel like I’m getting half a game when I buy these games because I can’t race online against the random Community unless I want my blood pressure to pop the top of my head off.
The menu system while pretty to look at and visibly well laid out is complete garbage as far as navigation and trying to figure out where to go and how to start things. My group of friends and I are all Forza veterans most of us back to the original Forza one. And every night we start cracking jokes and making fun of this menu system as a way to relieve are distaste for it. I suspect we all need to get used to it and memorize how it works in it’s terrible state as redoing the UI is not something devs ever typically do.
To the original poster on your second comment about the private Convoy. If you are in a convoy that means you are online which means you are in a session on a server with other players. They are the gray dots on the map. If you’re going to play with your friends they’re going to be there, there is nothing you can do. However you should go through them when you see them. they are basically unimportant to your driving and do not affect any scoring or any other thing in your game unless you do a forzathon live event in which case they become temporary Co-op Partners to help you score.
Also everybody remember the course race designer is supposed to drop on October 25th. That should allow us a lot more flexibility, designing races and picking settings. I would just goof around until that shows up. If that’s a pile of garbage feel free to get out your pickaxes and flamethrowers at that point LOL
