I played this game back when it came out and then dropped it soon later but I have recently reinstalled to try the game again. Is there a way that I can start a new save file?

one method might be to delete the game and saved data from your console/PC, install it again but remove internet connection before playing, start playing, then reconnect internet and don’t choose the cloud save
you might also ask them to delete all your data on privacy grounds then start again

To start over, delete the local save game and cancel the sync when you start.
You can also create a second account on your Xbox to start the game fresh before deleting your progress. There are some things you may have acquired that would be difficult to get again. It’s a little less permanent.

If i been here earlier i’d have an extra challenge for you. Not only start a new save but also disable your internet and see just how much of the game won’t be accessible. And then compare the base game experience to the expansions. Most people here i believe are more than aware of the outcome, so i won’t spoil it. And if you’ve already figured it out, i would still advise you to try this because you’ll never truly get a sense of how absurd it is unless you went through the hassle. You could do the same in FH4. And compare between both games. Particularly FH4 Base game vs FH5 base game.
In an ideal world it is absolutely fair and sensible for you to have the desire to do a fresh playthrough of your favorite game. Sadly that’s long stopped being the case for Horizon for one particular reason that this little test will unveil to you.
