Hello, Ultimate Edition owner here.
I have been hearing numerous different bits of information regarding this, maybe somebody can clarify things here.
Once VIP gets “fixed” by Turn10, will I then get a message that “from this day forward” I will earn 2x credits as a VIP member ?
Or will I get all the credits I have missed out on so far (approx. 15 million) paid into my profile ?
If the first solution comes to pass I think all VIPs will have been massively ripped off, since they could have waited with their purchase instead of pre-ordering.
Giving 1 million in credit to early adopters and cars that get nerfed a week later in my opinion does not cut it.
If solution number two comes to pass, I will be a happy camper, but never again pre-order a Forza game anyway.
You didn’t see the how in: start getting after the patch?
Of course, as a digital purchaser of FH2 and FM6 whose VIP rewards weren’t initially working, I kind of figured they wouldn’t be retroactively giving CR rewards. It’s nothing worth crying over.
I would assume a message would be sent to our inbox’s, informing us that from whatever day it drops onwards, we get double credits. I highly doubt we would be paid the ‘missing’ credits we would have earned. I’m assuming calculating what credits people are owed would be slightly difficult, because assuming VIP applies to the base race reward, the different mods people have used for each race would have to be accounted for. I wouldn’t rule out some form of further compensation though, and you can always sell your duplicate FE cars on the Auction House when it opens for a pretty decent profit.
so everyone like me who bought FM7 ultimate and have almost finished the championship races will be getting ripped off by not getting back dated x2 credits.
it seems fairly easy to me that all they need to do is look at VIP members and where they are in the game and calculate how much they are owed in back credit based on the basic credits due in each race they have entered up to that point, after all they gave each VIP member a “token” 1,000,000 credit bonus when they were found out with the x2 credit issue.
Giving all VIP members a flat 1,000,000 Credits seems like a lot less effort and much less time-consuming than calculating which races in singleplayer each individual VIP member has done, and what length the races were, as well as any free-play races with their own vehicles, not to mention multiplayer races.
I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m saying I find it highly unlikely that they would go to this much effort. They might on the other hand, try and figure out a flat number of credits to give to us though, or maybe even give us more VIP mods to use on top of our innate VIP bonus we’re getting.
It will be as easy or difficult for Tun10 as it was finding out people were abusing the Dodge Ram as an exploit.
In other words: not really that difficult.
You clearly asked when as in “will i get a message from this day forward…”
You then asked how, so it’s fair enough that FTL answered that question.
If you attack people for helping you, you won’t get much help.
We don’t know how, as this whole game was built around loot crates and their insidious use as means to extract more money for things we used to have for free!
And by “attack” you mean asking people to clarify their one-liner reply ?
Claiming the game was “built around loot crates” without providing any evidence is maybe more of an attack.
I for one have no problems with loot crates, at least they give me something to do with all the credits I usually gather while playing through a Forza game.
Nothing at all I can do with the 30 million I have in Horizon 3 or the 36 million I have in Forza 6.
My best guess will be that it will be a 2x modifier going forward from the time the patch is applied. If no means exists to determine precisely, without error, what modifiable income might have been earned prior to the coming patch then the reasonable course of action is to not attempt to modify previous earnings. The more moving pieces, the greater number of points of failure and the increased chance of something going wrong later. While we’d all like more credits, ultimately what we’d rather have is a stable game economy that is not once again subject to runaway inflation.
That makes sense, but the introduction of the auction house may yet again mess it all up.
And if credits become puchaseable with real money, that will take it to another level.
If you aren’t overly reliant on the auction house what does it matter? From what I can see the predominate way of getting cars is from level up rewards instead of outright purchase. That gives you the best possible deal on the car. I assume they do this to encourage you to play more cars than you usually would.
Credits won’t be purchasable with tokens and cars bought with tokens won’t be sellable for credits in the auction house as that would completely wreck the game economy over a weekend.
If what you say is true, and I have little reason to doubt it, then implementing the whole prize crate mechanic without eventually intending to monetize it must be one of the most bizarre business decisions I have ever seen.
Yes, they won’t award us the credits of previous races. That would have been like giving us the full, WORKING game when prelaunched. Instead, they will give us a starting point to actually begin the real grind. While for some, they still have plenty of career races to do, for me, I finished the campaign over a week ago and will not be getting anything for it VIP wise. That right there is 440 races all together and not including any multiplayer or free play races.
In other words, If you want to save some big payout races for VIP, then do so. But I won’t be playing this game too much without my correct VIP and without drift lobbies finally in the game. Why? Because I refuse to keep getting screwed by the game, the company, and others. I spent the money and will try to get my $$ worth out of it and I will keep trying to do so.
Just out of couriosity I went and took a look. The game doesn’t even track total winnings, that I could find. While I think the 1,000,000 was a bit low I don’t know how they could come up with an accurate figure when the finally get it fixed.
