Hotfix 8.1- Paints look off now?

After Update 8, the lighting, paints and overall look of the game seemed to finally “pop”.
The best I had seen it yet.
Today after the hotfix 8.1 the color is looking off again. some things look worse than before U8. Have a look at the Prismacolors, they look like thay have been in a hail storm.
Has any one else noticed this?
I was finally happy with how things were looking, If they can get it back to before the hotfix without what ever the issue was that they had to revert back, its a big step in the right direction.

I always thought it was my tv settings but when I play The Crew Motorfest the colours there are really vibrant. So it’s not my tv but Forza. I hope they can make the paints more realistic and vibrant because they look so off and wrong.

I had readjusted every setting on my TV and tried all the various HDR settings on the xbox. All to try to get FM looking some what normal.
After U8 I noticed the overall lighting had changed and I ended up reseting all my tv, xbox and game settings to back default, and at default settings things looked great.

Now after the hot fix I need to re adjust everything.
Good news is when they sort out the current issue causing the hotfix, and can implement the new changes again. Things should be looking great.

This is how Prismacolor paint looks at the moment. The red and black one has solid gloss vinyl applied. Kinda cool effect.

8 broke HDR on all platforms
8.1 reverted it back to how it should be.

Wow that looks strange!!!

Well… I’m not seeing any difference with the HDR changes. The home space is still too bright and now I can’t seem to adjust the HDR brightness at all.

So at least for me, HDR isn’t fixed.

Update 8 was the first time I had success using HDR, So my experience was the complete opposite.
Im on XSX with a mid range 4k samsung TV

It looks like molten plastic.

Well as to be expected, another update to break the broken. They’ve really screwed up the paint shop now. This is an image of my Fiat with vinyls over prismacolor white. It’s totally screwed up now. Going post this in the troubleshooting hub and see if it can get fix before next year. So frustrating.

cc. @JetPartySalad please take a look at this issue.

Here’s the thub post, now go vote it up please. As if we really shouldn’t have to “vote up” problems to get them fixed.

My cars are so ugly now I don’t think I can stand to play this game at all. Looking at the cars is almost nauseating.

Ron, stop trying to dimple your car like its a golf ball. That only works if you’re spinning through the air without any form of air control surfaces.

Done. And to aid in exposure, here’s a link to the Troubleshooting topic.

Copying links on the phone is a hassle. I had to vote on the PC.

After Update 8/8.1, some of my paints are now Matte vs the previous gloss, etc. Its just a complete waste of time trying to paint something realistic, ie race liveries, only for them to continue to screw with the paint color/finish.

And rims still can’t be painted.

It’s just horrid programming with absolutely no testing before launching. Where is that “extensively tested” before release.

As @grolschie pointed out. 8.1 seems to have removed the clear coat on the paint.
Thats why Prismacolor and the brushed metals look off, and the paints don’t Pop like they should.

Most liveries that look shiny in the preview thumbnails, look matte if applied to the cars now. It’s fantastic…
