Despite the game-play has its own issues with the car levelling and what not, but us PC players often face fps issues within the game. I’m playing Multiplayer Practice Session, getting smooth 60 fps, qualifying, I get 55-60 fps, comes race I get 35-44 fps? tf is that?
FPS keeps dropping every time a race switches from one event to another. I have a pretty decent build,
Ryzen 5 5600X
Nvidia 3060Ti 8GB
16 GB Ram
Game installed in M.2
but I’m still getting inconsistent performance everywhere. There is not a single session where I get stable fps when I start the game. One session i’m getting 60-70 change track it drops down to 40-50 at times 31-33 even.
I have seen some horrible optimization throughout the years, the worst optimization was the launch of GTA IV in PC back in the day, and now this Forza Motorsport reminding me of my GTA IV PC days.

Are you expecting 4k first of all? Because that card will not do 4k in this title.Drop down to 1440p and you should be fine.8gb Vram is not enough for 4k and will cause a lot of stuttering, but the main issue is that a 3060ti is not a 4k card.It has zero to do with optimization, you are expecting too much from that little card.
3060 TI handles FH5 fine at 4K, and that is an open-world with a higher level of environmental detail and longer draw distances. FM optimization on PC is terrible.

What 4k? I have a 1080p monitor and I’m playing at 1920x1080 resolution. Not even 2k mate.

It does BUT FH5 doesn’t have any raytracing at all while racing or cruising around the map. It has raytracing in photomode and in your garage.
In Motorsport we have raytracing everywhere and its very badly done. Thats why even a 3090 struggles with it on 4K Ultra settings.

But you can turn ray tracing off, and from the videos I have seen, it doesn’t appear to add much to the experience anyway.

It does A LOT. I played with full rt on and it was a major difference. Everything shiny looked so much better with rt on. BUT also it made everything shiny that shouldn’t be (like intercoolers, radiators, rims, etc).
FH5 has ray tracing in gameplay on PC since the November 2022 update. But it is still limited to cars self-reflections for player’s car and AI.
FM in addition to that has an RT ambient occlusion and track reflections, both of this options could be disabled. Also, resolution of RT reflections are significantly lower in FM than in FH5.
It has? Then its pretty subtle because I don’t remember seeing a difference betwen pre November 22 and after November 22.
If you haven’t changed the settings it wouldn’t be on. To enable RT in gameplay you need to set ray tracing quality to Ultra or Extreme.
You can check this article for additional information:
My game is set to Ultra xD Just checked it. It seems it is very subtle. DLSS is set to Quality.
I has issues with fps drops after 1-2 races and the culprit was Ray Tracing. the disappearing track was also tied to this.
turn it off and you should notice the subsequent races after restarting the game will remain steady.
Turn 10 needs to fix this and from what others have said it s a memory leak issue.
Well if thats the case there is something going on with your setup,at 1080p it should be much much higher than 60 fps.If you v-sync at 60hz at 1080p with that rig it should easily stay pegged at 60fps,without RT,try that out.RT and a 3060ti isn’t going to work too well tbh.
well everything set to ultra, whereas Raytracing is set to full reflections and RTAO Quality set to Low, I get 60fps, but as soon as I set RTAO to Medium and shadow quality and qubemap quality to high the fps falls to 40
