I agree. I wonder how many people were like me and had to rewind the bit coming out of the tunnel as you no idea where you were going. Even the blue line couldn’t be seen.
True…Either the lighting is too bright in some situations or too dark.
The tunnels brightness and inside cookpit view arent the only situations this can occur. What bothers me is how the lighitng is soo harsh early morning/sunrise. The way it hits surfaces and the vegetation… It makes everything look super sharpy and overly bright.
I dont understand how some people say the lighting has improved in horizon 5. I can see it having a lot of issues. Anytime of the day id prefer the lighting in horizon 2-4. Even though ive played only horizon 3 and 4 and have watched gameplay of h2. I can clearly see these games didnt have these issues. Sure the graphics can look sometimes overly saturated in h2 and h3 but i honestly perfer that over the way it is right now.
Add to that the blurry trees in the distance ( present in h4 as well but worse in 5).
Early afternoon ,clean weather is honestly when this game looks at its best. Any other time of day just doesnt look quite right.
Oh boy. This is probably due to their pseudo HDR implementation. Microsoft LOOOVES its pseudo HDR, Even though its absolute trash.
The worst part of this effect that I have seen is between the day night transitions, low light levels making the auto range go absolutely nuts to the point you see less than in full dark.
Rest easy and know that this will never be fixed.
Many game does that. But many of them are not fast pace game(action/FPS)
And modern game like to stack HDR effect on another HDR effect.
In game picture color are auto moving contrast and brightness.
Then when you are in some location(inside tunnel/indoor/In car) it added another brightness effect.
Then your screen HDR…etc.
When Movie try to put lots of light in dark scene and tune down brightness if it is too bright. So people can easy to see things and detail. (e.g. “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” they put LED on the street)
Game just do things that make you hard to see…for no reason
A bit off topic but about that tunnel from the train showcase event in the canyons. For one you have all these issues with the lighting where it blinds you as you come out of the tunnel and the walls illuminate white. On top of that if you wanted to get back on the road you’d have to do a 90 degree corner as you come out from that tiny tunnel. The placement of which hasn’t been well thought of.
At least it could’ve been placed somewhere in some way so that it feels a little more intuitive as you exit so you dont have to spin out and crash just so you can get back on the normal road.
for me the night is awful , it looks like the camera is shaking, kinda like you were dizzy, idk how to say it, but i hate it sadly;(
