Horns - who really cares?

I ran Goliath twice and was lucky enough  to get two wheelspins. Both times I won horns! Woohoo!

So how many players actually want horns as part of the game? I sure don’t. Have absolutely no use for horns.

To me of no use whatsoever.
Only during co-op racing to signal a teammate but then most of them do not seem to care at all.

Horns are like a negative win, worse than nothing.

A friend of mine used to say, all be it in our native language so a translation here, “naught dot naught negative if not, even less”.

Does not translate…

I might have a bigger interest in horns if you could assign a particular horn to a particular car.

I wish you could assign the horns to cars individually, but I like them. A better prize for me than most BMWs.

There is another use, in those Horizon Arcade ‘chaos’ games.
Beep your horn x times, but even then to me just a couple of different sounds would have been enough.

I liked the “ta-da” horn for a little while, it amused me to play it whenever I rolled onto my roof. The two Doom horns were whimsical for a while as well since I was a hardcore Doom 1/2 fan.

These days I’m right back to using the same horn I had in FH4 which is some sort of Ferrari sounding thing. It’s cute, it’s a proper horn, and I never hear anyone else using it. It sees frequent use whenever those idiot Drivatars cut me off or try to ram me off the track. I know they don’t care but it makes me feel better until I can properly return the favor.

Agreed with Ti_Hsien, being able to assign horns to individual cars would be amazing. I would spend far too much time pairing them up.

Well. It’s silly to have ten thousand horns and you can only use one. But then as far as I’m concerned, it’s silly to have horns. What for? Is someone going to let you pass because you honk your horn?

I have actually made room for teammates to pass in Trials when they honk their horns…

Theres been about 4000* scientifically written papers written, subjected to peer review and accepted as fact that a good horn can add 35-40* miles per hour to your top speed and is more of an advantage than a good pencil skirt or racing stripes.

    • note all figures are a guestimate and have ± 4000 error margin

I’d rather have horns than emotes or clothing

Edlebrock, Thrush, and Holley can add more.

And that silly screwdriver in the ignition only shorts stuff out and slows the car down.

If they’d give us quality Mallory ignition systems our cars would be much faster.

Horns add weight. Take 'em off and toss 'em!

i actually think the large horn selection is neat. i use my horn to say hello while freeroaming to other players and also when i’m waiting for the next online race to begin. very rarely do i get into a custom online race right away.

Unlike everyone else I actually like horns. My go-to is the police siren. I use this at the start of online races and there’s at least 2 others that crank on their siren too. Or I use it in free roam when chasing down other players.

More horns, emotes and clothing, I just cant get enough of them.

I will keep happily blaring my WOLOLOs.

You’re just spoiled. You always got everything you wanted. One of the many failures of modern parenting.

The horns themselves are fine, but its ridiculous that things as arbitrary as horns, clothing, and quick chat messages need to be unlocked or purchased in a game like this.
