To make the customised horizon open races fairer, would it be possible to implement a matchmaking selection option with players using only steering wheel?

I know we’re the minority in the game - but I too would really rather race with people that like me have to pay attention to real physics. We can’t just charge every corner full speed and mash our e-brake buttons and flick our thumb sticks in races and get away with it.
I’ll be honest, it does take some of the shine off the game when I see these people get away penalty free in races.
…I’m not hating on controller players, this is an arcade game after all - but facts is facts. Controller players in this game don’t deal with any where near the same physics wheel users do. Parity is better, but could be better still.
The next spot they could improve the view to wheel users are with tunes.

You can jump into and out of a controller/wheel on a whim on Xbox, not sure on PC…so this is probably never going to happen. Easier to find a friends list in game or start a club (if that’s an option still) that predominately uses wheel for cruising/racing.

Having to use a controller breaks immersion for players like me however I really don’t like it, and it cheapens the experience for me to be perfectly honest.
They say my wheel is supported, and it is in fact, an X-box branded wheel. They made specific and grand claims about improved support and physics, and so, I hold them to this.

It would be awesome to provide player the option to select what type of matchmaking they want, allowing them to choose between players with the same peripherals as them or mixted lobbies.

Your wheel is supported…so what do you feel they still owe you? The ability to filter races by control type? You can ask politely, they may say yes and add it as an enhancement in a future patch?
You don’t have to use a controller, but this is the same as Warzone players complaining that the Mouse and Keyboard guys have an advantage because of their freedom of movement…whereas the KBM guys say the joypad users have the advantage because of the heavy auto-aim/tracking that comes with using the controller. Same argument here…
The easiest way is to find some people who all use a wheel and not race with Rando.
Given the amount of unfixed issues I hear from wheel users I believe you have a greater chance of winning the lottery then seeing this option added.

I didn’t say they “owed” me anything. Only that for their claims, I feel they can do better with the parity.
I don’t, but I have, and that doesn’t mean that the very real physical differences between them, and what they can and cannot register from the physics engine don’t exist and doesn’t matter to tuning.

I beat randos all the same, and that really isn’t at all what I was making an example of that mechanic for in the first place.
Anyway, I’m sorry you’re having issues, that doesn’t mean everyone that isn’t demanding your issues be fixed needs to shut up about what they want.
