While I like playing Horizon Open, I generally like to have some variety. However, I currently don’t usually prefer Cross Country and S2 races, and don’t prefer either having to reload Horizon Open after a while later (and end up being late to a series because of the game’s matchmaking), or half-heartedly racing them in the hopes of a more favorable matchmaking system afterwards.
I don’t currently prefer the Custom races system, which requires me to navigate out to the previous menu if I wanted a different race series to play on. I simply find this too time consuming, and I’m worried I’ll match into a race I want to play in too late. Quite a few times I’m frustrated to have been matched to a game where the series ended, and I’m placed to queue for one I don’t want to play with in Open.
The system I would prefer is to be able to opt in to multiple preferred categories, and be matched to all such races until I return to Freeroam, change my mind about the combination of preferred categories or decide to play another game mode. For instance, I’d like to be able to race in any car class except S2, and in any race except Cross Country.
Only if I change my mind and if I wanted to race Cross Country and/or in S2, or if I wanted to include or exclude a different combination of classes and series, do I want to have to navigate through menus.
