Bought this from a friend, who also plays forza, last night. He built this in his garage! Square steel tubing, a saw, a welder and some paint and bam! He said he wasn’t a fan of other seats where the wheel mount come up between your legs so he built the loop mount. Over all it is a great rig, very sturdy but not to heavy. Also it is all fully adjustable. Wheel slides in and out, pedals have multiple mounting positions and seat reclines and slides. Best part of all, I only paid $300! And yes, that’s a Thrustmaster TX.
Now with all the money you saved you can justify some real pedals. I like that rig…
Put the ‘‘play pen’’ around the rig…you don’t want to be let out do you??
This is my first wheel, and I can defiantly tell the pedals are its weak link. The brake doesn’t come into effect till almost half travel and full lock up is way to easy, no force required to fully depress. I’ve tried the $10 pedal mod by inside sim racing, but for some reason, every new race I must stand on the brake pedal for it to release from halfway braking. I can fully depress the pedal and it will only have around 50% brake force. If I mash the pedal pretty hard it will then release to braking 100%. Therefore I must remove the rubber stop behind the pedal, mash the pedal down, then redo my rubber stop.
I’ve got to keep the kids at bay some how lol
Try changing the outside dead zone on the brake to 90 or 80%. That way you’ll get 100% with the mod. I think that might help.
With the mod I can still achieve 100% force, it’s only when I start a new race. I have to mash the pedal down with quite a bit of force without the mod in place for the pedal to ever recognize anything more than 50% braking (even if the pedal is all the way down). After this intial forceful push I can still achieve 100% braking with the mod in place. The mod just limits me from pushing the pedal to far when easily braking. The Inside Sim Racing video I watched said that the first intial push of the brake pedal would result in 100% braking, my case seems to be backwards.
