Was wondering how you guys have your sound set up, the cars sound amazing in cockpit view but I normally drive with the far chase cam, and the engine sort of drones out when you switch between the two, is there a way to have the same/louder engine sounds while in chase cam?
I have the audio setting for car focus (car, tire and effects turned up)… have the radio off all the time.
Depends on what you run i run a pioneer elitevsx and use dts neo6 and the cockpit is much quieter Dobly Digital is ok but like the 360 it decodes in in pcm wich theirs a debate on whats better but try DTS 5.1 if younhave the gear
You mean the actual audio settings on the xbox one? The cars sound amazing in forza 5 (all views) so I just assumed that I messed up some settings in game. But I do run just a normal Samsung home theater, was wondering if I missed the option between Tv stereo and home theater? I know that made a big difference in audio for forza 5 for me
Their is audio settings in game for car tires, dj,ect if find myself tweaking it all the time because of the different sounds of engines its under audio. Also i find not having the kinect on for reason helps btw are you running HDMI or optical
HDMI, what I did notice from testing (Supra) is that the main thing that drones away is the turbo spooling and the dump, its really clear and audible in the cockpit and hood view but once you switch to the chase cams it is really silent. Its actually the opposite for me in forza 5 where the cockpit is slightly quieter, which is understandable, that is why I’m trying to figure out if I messed up some settings or if the game is just that way.
It really depends on where the sound is coming from. For example for a front-engine car, If you switch from cockpit to chase cam, the exhaust sound should be louder, and turbo whine and hiss should be much less audible, because turbo noises are under the hood.
What I did was bring radio, SFX, voice over and tires volumes down to 8, then I adjust the car volume depending on how loud the engine is. It’s the easiest way to keep everything in balance, since only the engine sound can vary a lot in loudness. The other volumes can be tweaked to other preferences, as long as there’s some headroom at the top for the very variable engine loudness.
I agree with that logic however all the sounds become more droned out in chase cam, including the exhaust, and this is not a major problem, just crank up the volume a bit more. It is a bit annoying though, just thought there would be a work around, figure i just need to get more used to cockpit view I guess.
