Help needed with new moza r5 wheel - Solved

Anybody using the r5 who can help with some settings for the pithouse software and in game.

Today after 2 days of trying everything i could i gave up so at the minute the pithouse software has just been reinstalled the wheel and pedals are calibrated and the in game settings are on default waiting on some advice.

The problem is I can get the wheel feeling great in the corners but when on a straight the wheel is so light no resistance no road feel just nothing and when i get it feeling ok on the straights the wheel is just so heavy to turn in corners.

I had the ffb inverted in the game settings otherwise it was undrivable.

I have been using a thrustmaster t248 this last year and was having a blast so I am no stranger to the ffb settings but I cant get the moza feeling as good.

Update
So after a few more hours playing about i now have everything feeling good.
The wheel Is now not super light with no feeling on straights and corners feel great .

Update 2
Loaded game up today with all the same settings that felt great yesterday and the wheels back to how it was which is about 30 degrees left and right with nothing, no resistance no road feel just nothing.
I have tried assetto corsa plus American truck sim and everything feels great.
Cant understand how it worked for 2 days and now its back to this.
Any Ideas floating about

Update 3
So I updated the firmware of the wheel to the new beta which fixed It until i had a break restarted the game and back to square one but also picked up a good tip on mozas discord which was to knock the wheel off while in game and start it back up again this has worked and i am a happy racer again.

The difference between this and all the gear/belt driven wheels I have had is night and day.

So can you advise me with your pithouse and in-game ffb settings? im a R3 owner, almost gave up on it, cant have a consistent expirience %(

I can but these settings will need to be adjusted in game per car. So If you find that your car is very light then up the steering allignment by 5 untill it feels right, tuning also plays a big part in the feeling of the ffb. Also If you start the game up and your steering has no resistance 30 degrees left and right with no feeling of anything then pause game and switch of the wheel base by the button on the back turn it back on and check again.I have only had this not work for me once but a game restart fixed that.

One more thing Is I am running the new beta which has the new ffb update so If you are on the release version these settings may feel different to you. If you want to try the beta let me know.

This Is the car and tune I was using for these settings

On the R5 wheel I had to Invert the ffb not sure If this Is the same for the R3.

Hope this helps you my friend and If you are not on the new moza beta and want to try It let me know.

So just a quick update about issues you may sorry i will rephrase that with issues you will run into.

I started the game up after replying to your post and as usual i jump into rivals with the renault and the jsr chronic tune, by the way a big shout out to all you people that share your tunes you have saved this game for me as the cars default setups are so far off the mark you would think it was done on purpose by someone who worked for polyphony digital to put people like myself off the game, as i am terrible at tuning cars, i can even say i make them even more undrivable so turn 10, you need to get rid of your tune guy and hire one of community tuners like JSR Chronic or TDR and the guy with the fastest mini in the world tune (class E) forget his name think its wookie or something like that, also there is raceboy77 he is really good at tuning cars in this game,so you could hire him but wait a minute… you cant hire him as he already works for you  so just maybe ask him to put some better default tunes in the game, so much respect tuners. WoW so sorry went of topic there this is what happens when you get to the ripe old age of… well lets just say I was born in 1971 and survived the god awful fashion that was about back then, who knows maybe they were designed by a soon to be turn 10 boy/girl employer/employee tuner type person …

Let me restart by saying after I had replied to this thread I starting the game up and as usual I jumped into rivals with the renault and the jsr chronic tune, I do this because I will know straight away If the ffb is working correctly i.e If there Is a 30 degree world of nothingness left and right then its not and as usual there was, so i knocked the wheel off and restarted and nope still nothingness so i repeated with the off and on routine and nope still nothingness so i exited the game and restarted jumped into rivals etc and after muttering curse words (lots) I knocked the wheel off then back on and pressed the accel pedal and with much anticipation set off…Yes It worked the deadness is now gone, this Is now replaced by what can only be described as brilliance. So there you have It this Issue will occur everytime you start the game but not once has it reverted back into deadness once you have It sorted.

I can not stress enough that if you play the game with a moza wheel and have that deadness and you just try dialing it out using the settings you are missing out on so much.

Would It be worth putting a report into turn 10 as the R5 is not officially supported but I know for a fact Its happening with the R9 as well, I know this from all the youtube videos I sat through when trying to dial out the deadness, lots of R9 users having the same trouble with no feeling around the centre, and no matter what settings you change you can not dial it out you can make it better well not better the no resistance on straights 30 degrees either side never goes away.

Thats all for now folks Im going on forza to do some car related stuff that is after playing forzas mini game of Habitual Fir and the temple of deadness. It Is exclusive to moza users, so have you played your mini game yet…
Let the games begin and pray to the forza code there is not a part 2.

TBC …

My next event was the new Jordan luka, driving the 69 chevy and after downloading a tune for It, I found It a tiny bit light when driving so all I had to change was the steering alignment by adding 5 and this felt better.

Tune used

Because I use other peoples tunes I am locked out of the steering angle and ffb settings. so if you ever download a tune and find it more sensitive then you would like this is why easiest thing is to just get rid and try another instead of playing with other settings, would like to know If any thinks these 2 settings would be better in the fuel and tire menu or at least the ffb one.

:eyes: :eyes:

I use a Turtle Beach wheel and I am having the same issues since update 12. Something feels “light” when trying to go in a straight line. Definitely feels like the update broke something. Used my wheel on other titles and it’s fine.

No clue when It comes to the turtle beach wheel but the lightness in the moza wheel was there before update 12.

You could try resetting to default in the Input settings then choose the turtle beach again but be aware that If you do this It will also put the ffb settings back to default values, so take note of them before hand.

Well, I ride a Fanatec Podium dd1, I’ve never had any problems with the FFB. It’s always felt really great, so maybe it’s the Moza software that’s causing you problems. What does Moza support say about it, have you asked them? And the people I know who ride with Logitech don’t have any problems either.

I have been on the moza discord and there are a few mentions about this problem, It may well be the moza software but since this Is the only game it happens on I dont think the software Is to blame.

The comments in the moza discord are from people who are asking for help in the forza motorsport specific section which again Is another clue to where the problem most probably lurks…These comments all mention 2 very specific things these are …

  1. This only happens when I play forza all other games are fine
  2. how can you get rid of the 30 degree left and right dead patch

I think most people think it is a settings issue and fiddle about until It feels not as bad then either make do or play something else.
I was using a thrustmaster wheel and never had any problems either which Is why I only asked for help with the moza wheel.

I have got this sorted in a round about way so Im happy but I am going to start forza in about 5 minutes will do a lap with the dead ness mode then i will get the ffb how it should feel and do another lap. I will then check the logs to see if anything shows.

Hello, I did a bit of research on the Internet and found a point where you have to invert the FFB in the Forza Motorsport settings, in-game?

FFB Is Inverted.

This Is a video that lots of people will tell you Is the best settings for forza with a moza wheel, he explains about the deadzone feeling and how he could not get rid of it with settings, he got it better but not as it should be. I timestamped it to that part.

https://youtu.be/UbjPaiwCc0I?si=GUSQDJQIoSmBaRq-&t=396

If I use his settings when i have the deadzone its not great but better, when I use them settings when I have got rid of the deadzone and ffb is as it should be then it is nearly impossible to turn in corners.
