HDR on PC?

To enable HDR on the PC first have to enable in the Windows HDR display setting, in Windows the HDR gets horrible in the game gets ok.

I don’t have that option and im running the latest Windows 10 + GTX 980TI latest Nvidia drivers.

I have the right cables (I test with the same cables I use my PS4 Pro - that is running HDR 4K content to my telly.

I had that option like 6 months ago, but they removed it somehow.

Nvidia control panel change color settings for ycbcr 4222 10 bits to enable HDR windows 10

HDR doesn’t work for me)
I have enabled windows HDR settings, but picture still looks washed out in windows and in game.

While I can get it working in game (the calibration setting changes to an HDR setting) the implementation is definitely off. The added contrast seems to work but the colors are very wrong. There’s even obvious color banding for goodness sake. Awful. It’s like they have the ‘HDR’ part right but forgot the ‘10’ part that includes a wide color gamut and 10 bit color.

HDR doesen’t work for me. I can not see the HDR effect on my Samsung TV KU6000 with GTX 960 in the Forza 7 Demo. The HDR effect is very present in Battlefield 1 on the same computer and screen.

I heard T10 confirming HDR on PC in some of the interviews. It should be in the demo too.
EDIT: And it’s confrimed in this thread too… I just overlooked it.

It’s working for me. I have a Nvidia card. In Nvidia control panel. On the Resolution page. Set to “Let Nvidia control color.” Then select RGB color scheme. ONly than can the Full be picked on the “High dynamic range” selection. Then make sure it’s turned on under the Windows System Settings, Display. HDR on. Also turn it on in the game Graphics Settings. And in your TV settings. Looks pretty good, Even on my inexpensive TV.

The “HDR and Advanced Color” option found in Display Settings (when you right click on the desktop) is not working properly for a lot of us (based on google results from people complaining about this): colors look extremely washed out and sharpness is severely lost when “HDR and Advanced Color” is turned ON. It is worth pointing out that to be able to activate this option, your Change Resolution settings (inside nVidia Control Panel) must be set to “Output Color Format: YCbCr422” and “Output Color Depth: 10 bpc”.

Some people experiencing these issues suggested going back to Drivers 378.92, since with these there is no “HDR and Advanced Color” option to turn on, and the games that do support HDR will detect it when the game is launched, and run in HDR with no washed out colors. Even though this in fact works for other games, the Forza Motorsport 7 Demo does NOT recognize HDR when launched.

Are your colors and sharpness displaying correctly when you turn on the “HDR and Advanced Color” option before running the game? Do you have the HDR settings options inside the game?

null I tried to take some screenshotsHDR Forzanullwashed out. Most didn’t turn out at all? Most are all washed out. However, the game itself looks good! Maybe the far background could be called washed out? But I think it’s supposed to be? Skyscrapers appear as white cutouts. And in my Nvidia control panel. I have to choose RGB as Output Color Format or the Output Dynamic Range cannot be put on full. I’m using driver 384.76 as the newest one works terribly. Maybe it was installed wrong? https://scontent.ftpa1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/21768916_1819298894764886_3605100983866682708_o.jpg?oh=bc03beb9c9c76a5c49813e36217d94f5&oe=5A4BC378

I made a video with my camera of HDR enabled on my Hisense TV. PC specs. cpu 8350 AMD, GTX 970, G920 wheel. A tiny faded in some distant spots maybe. But overall I like it.
P1030234 Forza 7 HDR on PC - YouTube WOW! Made some color adjustments on my TV. And now it’s really spectacular. Yes, HDR works on PC. Maybe I’ll make a better video tomorrow.

The video quality there doesn’t allow for any comparison to in game iq unfortunately. Do you run the game in 4K? I can’t even get windows to recognize hdr at less than 4K. Though there’s an in game scaler to get around that.

The game looks great with hdr off and demonstrably worse with hdr on being no where near hdr with the X1. Hoping the fall creator’s update fixes the issue.

HDR works now. I had to turn “HDR and Advanced Color” on in Windows, then it showed up in the settings menu on the Forza 7 demo. Problem is that in the Windows desktop the the screen looks washed out (grey tint) on my GTX960.

HDR also works here flawlessly at 4K with a GTX 1080ti. I set 3840x2160 YCbCr 4:2:0 12bit in nVidia Control Panel and in-game HDR settings appeared. It looks gorgeous (expecially the dynamic weather) on a Samsung KS8000.

Many reviews says there is no HDR available currently, and I myself did not find it in the demo.
So why is the Windows Store advertises this game as an HDR title?

Yea i agreed…its works for me too, PC ver had HDR yaaayyyyy…its stunning awesome.

Setting same as kalimist

There is HDR on Windows PC ver mate…see the post kalimist…cheeerrrsssss…

.

i doubt FH3 will receive HDR support on PC, but it would be greath though.
maybe when the xbox one x is release, who knows. but i dont have any actual information about this

HDR is still not working on PC even after the fall update , still grey washed out colors

Only SDR content (like thed desktop) is washed out and grey with the HDR switch enabled (i.e. still broken), HDR videos and games look correct. Turn off HDR mode for watching/playing SDR content
