The new DLC has landed and I wasted no time in driving the Jag. The build is a bit difficult as you have to battle to keep it in P class but I decided to use all the tyre widths so this is the only Jag with Lexanis you’ll ever see! But it drives beautifully. I expected it to have low front and high rear downforce which is what turned out to be the case but it has amazing high speed cornering. I took it to Silverstone to test how aggressively I could tune it and it felt fine even with aggressive settings and the end product is something that can beat the Mazdas!
You can find this tune shared by me, if it doesn’t show up on the first page then you can put “HCR” in the keywords. I have an updated tune with slightly different tyre pressures and gears and it seems to work! You should find it with the same keyword and it says #1 in the description
I took it to Silverstone Natl in the wet for a bit of unfinished business and reclaimed my #1 with a 47.916, top by 0.110s
I ran it at Spa in the wet and got 2nd. 7 tenths off top, it’s a tall order but I reckon it’s doable!
There are plenty more laps to come. I will update.
There are some nicer rims than Lexanis though which would suit the car better. I recommend finding rims of equal weight that are near the car’s original design:
I thought it’d be a proper rocket for Road America and the sorts but it out accelerates the Mazda and sometimes has better high speed grip.
I recently ran some tweaks and have a new Jag tune released. Named “HCR JAAAAG” (it has more As in it), it has higher rear tyre pressure and reworked gears and even those tiny changes made a lot of difference. Have a look at this:
Says the guy that had to beat my lambo time by hundreds.
I will join you in jaaag in Atlanta. But it’s like home turf for you so not sure I’ll be able to match you
I’ve always felt more at home in Motorhead’s tunes from a drivability standpoint. So probably start from there and try my own bets are I’ll be fastest in Motorhead’s.
I tried it at silverstone gp to compare it against Mazda that i ran there and looks like jag out accelerates or matches to a point and then Mazda gets away.
I only did 5 laps, had other stuff going on so this weekend has been very productive in Forza world
It’s weird because I was using my tune in lobbies and it feels nicer, but I was a second off my #1 at Road Atlanta. And it’s still up there for the time being! My Sebring times got taken just recently. I’m most content with my efforts at Silverstone though; I’ll hope to hold onto those for as long as I possibly can!
See what works for you. I can only advise on what works for others, including myself. The Jag has the extra power and rear downforce so it does accelerate better than the Mazda. But the Mazda has a really low drag coefficient by the looks of things so it will hit higher top speeds without sacrificing as much aero. Still, that means the Jag can get up there on a load of layouts and I’m surprised it works on the Glen and Road Atlanta, for example.
Looks like I have a battle on my hands for #1 in Asia Pacific at Road Atlanta. At least I know I have been 0.5 up on my current time until I made a silly mistake trying to go even quicker at the top end grrrr!!!
My time at Road Atlanta is in a different tune actually, LMR Harmonic gave me his. My tune seems to have the upper hand in the wet. That Road Atlanta time also was a fluke, it’s rare that I beat him on pure merit!
What we’ve found is the stock tyre variants are considerably better in the dry but in the wet the race tyre compound is a lot better, plus the tyre widths because the game seems to favour contact patch.
Atlanta is my test track so I was out there doing my own tune before you had set your time (or before I had realised you had set your time).
I have both tunes and I prefer yours from a drivability point of view but can see why Harmonics may be quicker but it has taken me a while to get used to it.
Still put in a few #1s in my region though. Still seconds off the proper #1 but I know areas for improvement so I am not done yet.
Really nice tune Motorhead!!!
I’ve yet to take it to where I should ( a wet track), But I always like how yours feels to me, so it was a good introduction to Harmonic’s as I was on dry tracks. I still got a ways to go before I spout of any times, for sure. I am still getting acclimatized to the speed, because with exception of Lambo, I’ve been in the lower classes of late. The braking line is a complete lie on Road Atlanta in your tune. It is freaking amazing how fast the car decelerates and there is grip in spades, so I can see why this tune is good in the wet.
10a and b require braking… No matter how good you are, LOL and that is what I was primarily talking about. I used the braking line first hot lap and was like whoa - I definitely need to go deeper by a bunch.
I could see getting away with no braking on the Alps though the 1st turn would be a bit iffy on no brakes.
I plan on hitting the wet tracks this weekend or week coming up.
I’ve always been a grip, in control, predicable car type so that’s why I always liked your tunes. Fast but are more grip influenced. That’s why they do so well in the wet.
As I’ve evolved. I am getting the more aggressive dif and looser setting, not sure I’m at the point where I would say I like it but I realize the difference of when to and not to but instinctively start in yours (grip and tighter) then work my way looser.
