I made the horrible mistake of trusting to purchase the Season Pass to make my Forza Horizon as close to content complete as possible before the End of Life on the 20th only to find out that you cannot access the marketplace server online.
This leaves me with the choice of hoping they fix this, completely wasting money on purchasing the Rally Expansion separately or asking Microsoft for a refund of the Season Pass. Two options of which will / could leave me with the reality that I will never get the Rally Expansion.
I contacted Microsoft the other day via Live Support Chat. He suggested the developers are working on this. Has anyone heard anything similar?
First off I think this is the worst timing to EOL a game. Especially when it was just available on Games With Gold. And you just released Forza Horizon 3. Tell me how are people going to feel when Forza Horizon 2 or Forza 5 is EOL and the drivatars come offline with the servers? Your EOL has basically forced me to spend some of the money I’d saved for Forza Horizon 3 to attempt to complete my DLC for Forza Horizon 1 which means you will simply get a later purchase of Forza Horizon 3 from me.
Now obviously the right thing to do that won’t punish people who chose to purchase the Season Pass recently is to alter things so that all the Forza Content is registered to their account prior to or after the EOL. If they make it so those people have to chase down refunds and get told they should have purchased the Rally Expansion separately, hard luck, that will be extremely harsh and will likely make those customers wary of trusting season passes in the future especially ones like this that expect you to log into the game instead of just unlocking the content normally.
I think what is most frustrating is I can’t even get a simple answer here like “we’re working on it, don’t worry, don’t panic and double purchase the Rally Expansion” … like something … just give me something. Anything.
