GT3 and Hypercars cars are undriveable

It’s been a while since the game came out and I want to share my thoughts and hear yours. I think Turn 10 has never come to a situation like this. I’ve seen on the internet and YouTube the opinions of various people saying “disastrous situation”. This does not refer so much to the game content (multiplayer, single player campaign, licenses etc…) but regarding the driving of the cars.

From YouTubers I hear and I confirm (I made 2 posts about this in the section of issues with GT3 and Hypercars) that the cars are undriveable. They slide and float. Corners that should be done flat, must be taken with a certain difficulty by lifting the foot or braking or even end up against the wall like in Spa with the Porsche 963. From today I decided to stop playing because I’m tired of the situation, I think I’ll go play F1 2020 which despite not being an actual driving simulator is fun and has no graphic or physics problems.

It’s not just us in the community complaining but people who come from other games share a bad opinion. Then I add lastly, how can you improve a game if people constantly oppose to improve it? All cars should be glued to the ground without floating or sliding but there are still people who defend the game and these problems.

Example. If you search for the onboard video of a GT3 car at Road Atlanta the car is stuck to the ground and goes flat out through the corners (after T2). This is absolutely not possible in the game. Or the Porsche 963 that bounces and gets thrown away at Eau Rouge (in the WEC this car can take that corner flat out)

As said I will stop playing and I hope other people do the same to experiment and have fun in new games because not only have problems with content but also physics. Just one word, horrible

An easy thing to change in the tune is the anti-squat in the suspension geometry tab. Usually this is set at a rather high value (to the right).
Try lowering the anti-squat, close to zero or even slightly negative. This will make the rear of the car more friendly and predictable.

This goes for both GT racing cars and prototype racing cars like the LM hypercars.

Similar discussion that is full of tuning tips:

Okay but do you realize that these cars don’t follow physics? Do you think you can solve everything with a set up? The car will continue to steer badly, slide and float as it always has. If we don’t tell things as they are we can’t expect anything good. If everyone (from great youtubers like Super GT and many others) says that it has horrible physics, we should ask ourselves some questions instead of looking for solutions in the set ups. The only thing that is appreciable is the graphics, apart from that the game doesn’t stand out in anything

Not everything, just a lot of it.

You can in fact solve everything from a setup.

You can use the same formula for every car in the game too.

So a “great youtuber” announces their opinion, and that automatically makes it the truth?

Not saying that the game doesn’t have issues, but I think a lot of opinions are being formed based around vehicles with stock tunes, a large portion of which are objectively poor and make the vehicle more difficult to drive than it should be.

This implies that you’re expecting Forza Motorsport to be a true driving simulator, which I think is kind of the problem here. It never has been one. In fact, I don’t think you’ll find the words “simulator” or “simulation” anywhere in any of the game’s marketing material. The goal has always been, more or less, to provide a sort of automotive playground, with an emphasis on competition but not necessarily true-to-life realism. As such, certain liberties have to be taken and certain inaccuracies are going to exist. Some of the game’s inaccuracies are going to be unacceptable to some people such as yourself, others accept them and enjoy the game for what it is.

Only the 10% of people enjoy the game. Go read what others write in other posts about physics and other things regarding set up and tires. I’m not the only one complaining. And how can you have fun with undriveable cars, no custom championships, terrible AI, Free Play so bad that I can’t even set the end of race timer, multiplayer that runs with upgrades on cars when in reality it would be enough to add them when they are already stock

I’m glad someone else pointed out that the LMDH/Hyper cars can’t go through Eau Rouge flat out. I’ve watched several on-boards of these cars from last year’s WEC race at Spa going through Eau Rouge without lifting or tapping the brakes. I’ll try adjusting the anti-squat. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully that will help. The AI is still going to lift & tap the brakes through there, even with difficulty at 8. Turn 10 still needs to work on their AI, but they have done a much better job with them in some regards. They actually pass me if I run off track now & will fight a little better for a corner. They still occasionally brake check me for no reason at some spots & have a habit of crashing into each other & causing a pile up. Keep working on them. because they definitely need it, but there are areas where they have really improved the AI. Please Turn 10 don’t ignore those of us who only play in Free play mode.

No. You can’t. If you go drive a real simulator ACC-iRacing you will see how bad and toyish are GT cars on Forza. The issue is deep into the code, not in the setups

This is what I’m saying and many go against the reality of facts

Tuning will absolutely make it so you can take Eau Rouge/Radillion flat in the hypercars. I’ve no issue with any of them after tuning in this regards. For the GTs, some of them can take it flat in spec builds with high rubber levels. The old GT2/GTE builds definitely could with medium to high rubber. The stock tunes are just bad on all of the cars.

Yes man, you can…

Why are you playing a simcade if you prefear “real simulators”?

Sim/Simcade/Arcade are reductive labels that destroy any nuance of discussion and comparison.

Yeah, why am I not able to take every corner 300 kmh flat?

Jokes aside, I wouldn’t quote clickbait youtubers as a reliable source on what’s realistic and what not. People in general should not defy realism on how cars are supposed to behave based on some Youtube videos.

Circuit de Spa has many elevations so the car loses traction which in return makes it more prone to spin out of control.

The onboard of Spa says that is flat out with the Porsche 963…

Yeah, that is true. Because this is a game and not the training simulator used by Porsche professional drivers, I think that it’s normal to find a difference with the real counterpart. There is an approximate model of the car, like in any other consumer game.

However, like every game, this has its own identity with unique features. First it gives you 600 cars, each one with specific components and customizable settings. Second you drive and have fun both with a pad and a steering wheel, with very comparable performance. Third you can play on Xbox and PC, including Series S that is the cheapest option on the market. And finally, it’s on Game Pass. I should mention also one of the best graphics ever seen, with awesome weather conditions. Tell me how many other games can provide all of that at the same time .

Sometimes the car is slightly different from the real counterpart? Ok, for sure, there are other games more accurate on the physics, but they can’t provide all the features I mentioned.

So, in brief, have fun and forget real cars!

The “It’s just a game” reasoning doesn’t apply here.

If it is not meant to be a simulator, then the cars should handle better, no?

Every hypercar should be able to take the hill at Spa flat out, but they can’t. The game simply lacks the code for mechanical grip, which makes the cars feel sluggish and floaty.

You have to tune the grip back into the car, which is not easy to do and most players will probably never be able to do it.

If you try to do quick steering transitions on a wheel like they do irl, you will lose all grip and spin out.

I don’t know what to tell you. I did solve the problems by tuning them out.

It’s a game bro

It’s not a simulator. Nobody considers it a full on sim

Keep practicing and you might come to enjoy the game and learn to tackle its unique way of handling physics or you can go back to any other sim title
