Great Britain is the big island - it consists of the countries Scotland, England and Wales.
Ireland is the smaller island to the west of Great Britain - it consists of the countries the Rupublic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The British Isles are both of the above plus various smaller islands (Isle of Man, Western Isles, Channel Islands etc).
The United Kingdom is a political union. It consists of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Island, and some of the smaller islands.
Some quick points addressing some of the more ridiculous things I’ve seen in these forums in the last couple of days:
There is a long, historic and thriving car culture in the British Isles.
There are mountains, hills, lakes, forests and all sorts of lovely geographical features in the British Isles. It’s a beautiful place.
Driving on the left is not “wrong”, it’s just different from many other countries.
The above countries are not interchangeable - a Scotsman isn’t English, England isn’t Wales, Welsh people aren’t Irish. Seriously, it’s as wrong as calling Americans Canadian, Belgians French, or New Zealanders Australian.
Thank you for your time. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.
(Oh, and before someone starts grasping for other stereotypes - our teeth are fine, thanks. Really.)
In other news, I’m a clown and posted this in the FM7 forum instead of the FH4 forum. Little help please, mods?
I’ll get me coat.
I’m used to RHD in FH3 so the transition should be smooth.
However… you guys still drive on the wrong side of the road! (just kidding)
Anyway, better the UK than Japan, especially if Turn 10 hasn’t sorted out Toyota’s situation yet. And the McLaren Senna is a VASTLY superior cover car to the Supra, no question.

The idea of driving on the right side of the road came about in olden days of horse drawn carriages …and may be attributed to Napoleon…who was left handed…search on the inter web thingummy and see the truth (if there is such a thing).
If you are right handed, as most people are…it makes more sense to drive on the left so that you can give more accurate …ahem…hand signals…out of the window to oncoming traffic ha ha ha!
Just about anywhere near the seaside given all those retired drivers who can’t see or use a clutch without burning it out!
Proper looking forward to this. Some amazing roads and scenery over here. Although I think it’s weird the traditional London taxi (FX4) isn’t the cover star. Here’s hoping there’s a Routemaster to race in!
I will have to go ask me old man I was 5 when we left England in 1973 and moved to Australia lots of sunny days here mind you 1974 was not the best interduction to Australia with Tracy bashing Darwin and Brisbane disappearing under water but I’m sure he will know where and why, Its not for the Ferry crossing to France is it by chance??.
Just another point that people have been commenting on with respect to winter. The entirety of the UK is not covered in snow for most of the winter. Frankly, it’s not even that cold in many parts of England in the winter. Wet, yes, but blizzard mountain levels of snowy cold throughout the U.K., not really. Hopefully, since the devs are from the U.K. and they have asserted that the seasons will have their own variation, winter should give good variety across the map.
Certainly not going to get cold enough to freeze lakes, haha. But heck, I’ll go with it. We’re in a pseudo-arcade racer and they’re allowed to exaggerate.
